Get a print for the curtains, and tablecloth/placemats/table runner, that has some green and maroon in the print.
Add tiny bits of the green and maroon in small accessories in the kitchen.
Paint the kitchen your favorite color from the print.

Im getting a two tone theme here. So since you have tan in both of thoes rooms if you do tan for one half you can do basically any color you please in the kitchen. I don't know your specific taste so that all the comment I can have.
Good Luck!

Keep the kitchen neutral so that it all flows, but add an accent color in your towels, window treatments, canisters, etc.
Maroon and black would look good for accents in the kitchen.
