One or two beers is ok.. its a good way to unwind and end your day... just like we women folk like a nice glass of wine before bed... helps us sleep.

It becomes a problem, when you're having more than 4, and drinking with the ultimate goal of getting DRUNK, the majority of the week.. even moreso if you get to the point where you can't function in social settings without being intoxicated... when it gets to that point, it usually escalates to not being able to function in everyday life without being intoxicated..

Then you need to look at your life and ask yourself if you could go a week without drinking. If not... then you may have a problem.

But, it sounds like you have a handle on it.

Does alcoholism run in your family? It does in mine, I come from a long line of it.. and I used to worry that I would be pre-disposed to it.. so I used to not drink altogether, just to be safe... then I realized that it's really in my hands. I choose how much to drink, when to stop, and I know the warning signs because, well, I lived closely with alcoholics. If anything.. seeing it first-hand was more of a deterrant.
I digress.

If you're worried, get youself to an AA meeting and ask yourself if you are anything like them. I think you'll immediately rule out that you are.

No I do not, it has been shown that people who drink on a regular basis, small amount live longer than those who do not, it does not matter if it is wine, beer, or whiskey. Most who drank small amounts daily, drank whiskey or wine 1-2 drinks a day and lived to be in their late 90's. It does thin the blood so I guess it would help with constricted blood vessels and blood flow through out the body.
An alcoholic cannot help but drink, fights it, jukes for it like an addict with drugs, they hide it when they drink during the day at work, before work. It is a compullsion beyond their control.

only if you feel that you MUST have those beers in order to function. if its just something to drink with dinner, or in front of the tv, then no. an alcoholic is someone who feels they cannot get thru the day or function normally without drinking. or drink just to drink. like i know this girl whos and alchy. everytime she comes to the house she asks if she can hit up the bar we have, just because its there. she has problems. she can go thru an entire bottle a night.

No I don't think so...an alcoholic is someone who wakes up drinking and sneaks drinks during the day without telling people and who are in denial about it. It is people who can't live without it and who stash it is their desks or cars. And vodka is usually the drink of choice. NO SMELL.....
