The PS3 is an excellent game system.
The XBOX 360 is good too but cheaper.
And with these systems you get what you pay for and to make 360 decent you need to buy a lot of upgrades which make it cost abiout the same.

I asked this same question to a video game "geek" at a local game store and I was told the following;
XBOX 360 is a much better buy. The library of games is larger than that of the PS3, and he has seen more PS3's returned due to system errors. The XBOX 360 is cheaper than the PS3, however, there is a catch to this as well. With the 360 you can choose from 3 different options, the Core, The premium and the Elite. Basically the premium (350 $ US) is your best buy. It contains internal memory and allows you to do all the things you can do on the Elite system. The main difference is the Elite system has a larger internal memory and its black. Thats about it.
So a direct answer is, no the PS3 is not worth the money and an XBOX 360 is another game system you can pursue.

1). Wii is good for all-family-easy-fun (it's weaker, than PS3, but it has a very funny joystick).
2). Xbox 360 has more games right now (in 2008 PS3 will have more). 360 is cheaper, can be modded, but it's unreliable (33% failure rate, while PS3 has less than 0.2%). 360 isn't that strong, you'll have to buy wi-fi and other extras. Xbox live (internet for Xbox is 50$ per year), PSN (Playstation network is free).

Yes, Many new games are coming out soon in 08. a lot of hype for most of them. you can find a good list of them online.and the games out right now may not be exclusive but they sure are fun. Also the ps3 is the only system that plays to its fullest in HD. where the 360 only play its SD but better.
Recommended games would be:
Call of Duty 4
Assassin's Creed
Resistance: fall of man
and many others.
and to the person who said that the ps3 had system failures is wrong. the ps3 system failure rate is only 0.2%.
where as the XBOX360 had a failure rate of 33%.

Depends on what games you would like. The PS3 has only a few good games currently unlike the Xbox360.
I would get the Wii due to it's interactive and innovative games. It's cheap too!

xbox 360 is much better
it is cheaper also and buy the elite one which costs 1300 qrs(350$)
