In Kansas, 1kg (about 2 pounds) of Cod costs about $15. Red Snapper is higher, about $20. Catfish is farm grown locally. You can get 2lbs for $5. My favorite is Halibut, about $25 for 2lbs. We have lots of beef. Will trade.

On the southwest side of Chicago, we're paying a little over $4\kg. for Tilapia fillets. Ceviche, a maringated fish\shrimp relish, sells for about $4-6\lb, depending on the mix. Catfish ranges between $4-6 kg., depending on market supply. We haven't really priced other fish, but whitefish runs about the same as tilapia.

Life is good in the Barrioski.

Btw. Much of what is sold as "Red Snapper" is actually tilapia.

Funny, I just bought a pound of cod yesterday. It was $9, so 2 pounds would've been $18, in Cali. Crab legs are about $15 a pound. And I wouldn't trade those crab legs for anything. :)

I am sorry, I can not comment as I am swimming in pain from a rather large haddock right now. I just feel crabby today Tell the truth, did you smelt this kind of answer coming from me? Or did you fall for it, hook, line AND sinker? I guess it would depend if I baited you properly.
