What are .log files in computer?

What are .log files in computer,
what should i do,
can i remove .log files, if yes, how and is it safe, will the program creating these .log files still work after fine removing them.

Log files are usually a text record of that some program leaves behind recording (logging) what was done at what time. You can normally open them with a word processor or text processor. I make my own and went into the place you make choices and told Windows to open the file in NotePad anytime I clicked on it.
There should be no problem in erasing them, the programs just create a new one and start adding to it.
