I have watched with amused interest how Atheists seem to attack Christians without mercy, and vice versa (thankfully, they leave us Jews pretty much alone).

But, has Atheism become a form of religion in its own right? It seems to me that the non-believing extremists are just as dogmatic as the religious right.

Your view?

somehow Jews don't tend to bother atheists with some phony persecution complex. Isn't that ironic? Oy Vey!

Atheism is not believing in a god. It is not a religion. There are no churches of atheism. There is no dogma to atheism. There is no worshipping or prayer in atheism.

I am actually curious what your definition of a religion is.

Another way to look at this. Do you belief that aliens have been visiting Earth in the past few years? Lets say that you do. Lets say that you form a cult of alien worshippers. Would you say that anyone who does not believe in aliens are in the cult of no-alien worshippers?

The lack of belief is not a belief...how hard is that to understand. Everyone is born without belief in supernatural deities, thus they are born atheists.

Silly jews, myths are for kids.

To have a belief in a non-belief doesn't make much sense. It's as if Atheists are actually validating the idea of religion by so vehemently opposing it.

yeah, like how not collecting stamps is a hobby, or how bald is a hair style. That's atheism for ya. Every week I go to my non-church, listen to a non-sermon, and talk with my non-brethren.

Religion:
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Hey, look, it isn't atheism.

Many atheists will describe their non belief in a god as just that...a non belief. I personally feel that it is a belief and should be treated as such. I believe that there is no god so how people can call it a non belief sounds silly to me. But to each his own.

Belief is just opinion based upon individual perception. I know that many people like to think of their beliefs as more than just opinion, but that's all they actually boil down to.

It's a belief in the same sense that your non-belief in invisible pink unicorns is a belief.

atheists do not believe in god, simple just because we don't believe in god does not mean we don't believe in anything else, we just don't dedicate our life's to a god no one can prove and a book full of contradictions and hypocrisy.
