Because they need something to make them feel special.

They feel such things are sufficiently corrupting of their children that they want to live in a country that does not accept them. Homosexuality is seen as a choice, in that if you have "unnatural" urges, you should remain celibate rather than indulge them. (Hey, that's not me; that's the fundies!) Evolution directly contradicts the creation story in the Bible, so they cannot accept their children being exposed to something that might make their religion sound as foolish as most of us feel it is.
You see, they feel they have a duty to "correct" those of us who are wrong. That's doing God's work, in their view. My mother was a Methodist Sunday school teacher, and she was always that way. But bless her, she managed to be polite about it.

Homosexuals already have rights. They can sleep with whoever they want and live with whoever they want. No one is denying them that. And evolution is already taught in schools, so those things already were legislated. But in a democratic state we all have a right to legislate our views if we can gather enough votes, right?

Fair question. I'm a believer, and I don't spend as much time on either topic. There are many other things I need to get squared away in my own life, namely my own walk with the Lord.

Because we don't want our children and the people we love to grow up in a world where these things are accepted...at all. We still love the people who believe in these things, we just dont have to love the sin they advocate. The day homosexuality and evolution teaching are accepted in society is the day the world will go to hell in a handbasket.

Because Jesus told us to be salt and light. Salt was used as a preservative and light exposes things.
When a people choose to revel in sinful behaviors, we are called to be a force against it.
Evolution is a philosophy dedicated to prove that God doesn't exist (except for those who buy the lie that God used evolution as the way of creation).
Homosexuality attempts to asunder the very foundation of society by changing what a family is, which is also against God's ideal.
It seems as though you would rather we keep our salt in the shaker. But we don't do that in real life, so why should we as a metaphor?

The Bible says that if a man see a wrong doing and does nothing to try to stop it, then he is just as guilty. It also says that a watchman who sees an approaching enemy and doesn't sound the alarm is responsible for all who perish, but if he sounds the alarm and nobody pays attention, then they are responsible for their own deaths.
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
Homosexuality is a lifestyle that is unacceptable to God.
Repent now, ask Him for Forgiveness, accept Jesus into your life, and follow Him.
Did you hear the alarm? It's sounding.

It is our right as citizens of this country to speak what we believe. Just as it is the right of every homosexual and evolutionist out there. Is it right for my Christian children to be forced to learn evolution in public schools? If we remain silent, the foundation that this country was founded on (Christianity) will crumble and this nation along with it...this is what i believe.

I have to disagree, it is not the religious folks who have brought their beliefs into the public arena...It has been the non-religious folks who have sued the school, gov't to take God out. Why haven't non-religious people just leave it at that? Why must homosexuality be brought into the traditional realms of marriage?

It's not only "religious people", it's all people that can not respect others chosen way of living, and they do not respect any other way of thinking different than theirs...that's the main problem, that's why we have so many wars going on the world... ARE THEY MAD...THEY GO KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT??

Christians believe that sexuality is a choice. So they must think about homosexuality all the time.
How I see a christians choice:
"He's a nice guy, but I'm a man and therefore choose to not be attracted to him. Even if he does have a great ***"
