I would just like to say "All paths lead to the same source, respect all paths even if you disagree with them" One person can not see the whole of the Universe so we all just see little parts and call it names like Christian, Islam Judaism, Paganism etc but its all one universe to big for our little brains to absorb.
Just my 2 cents

Very good!!
If there were no Christianity, then Mohammed wouldn't have been able to write about Jesus, whether a prophet, or anything else.
And if there was no Judaism, then Mohammed would have had even less source material for the Koran, and also God's Son, Jesus, couldn't have come to fulfill Judaism, because no foundation would have been laid. Judaism, and the Law, had to come first, before anything could grow from its roots.
But since Islam isn't the result of Mohammed's knowledge of Judaism and Christianity, but rather from what he heard whilst in the cave, I reckon that whoever he listened to could've filled in the gaps.

I think there would still be Islam. Mohammad was more than just a religious figure and founder of Islam. He was also a ruler and a vicious fighter. A case could be made that there would be no Islam if there were no Mohammad but he would still have been able to create his own religion with him at the top.
As far as speculation that the world would have been better off without religion, well, just look at life in the Soviet Union or other socialist or communist states. No God, no religion equals no value to human life. No unalienable rights. No foundation for America. The world would suck big time without the religiously motivated Founding Fathers in America. It was their belief in the existance of an almighty Creator that made them form a Union where every man was equal and equally valuable. Not so in any other country that existed at that time. Their religious values gave the concept of life, liberty and the persuit of happiness to the world.

The Islamic Nation are descended from the line of Abraham's illegitimate son, Ishmael. Christianity came about also from the line of Abraham through The House of David (on both sides by the way -- both Joseph and Mary were from the line of David) with the birth of Jesus. God told Abraham that Ishmael would bring forth a great nation that would basically be a thorn in the side of the legitimate heir descendants. So, are we re-writing The Bible?

But that is totally discounting the fact that there is a GOD and people will always want to dictate how you get to him and make up rules that are different from each other. What the world needs to do is listen to God instead of trying to tell him how we are going to do things. Jesus is the only hope for the world and until we all see that there Will always be conflict.

Read the book of Genesis and take a decision.
The Bible says that the son which Abraham had through his Egyptian slave will not worship God the way his father (Abraham) does and so, there was - Christianity & Islam. The other god we hear of is "idol worshipping"
It could be in any form!

Islam existed from the very foundation of humanity. Adam was muslim. Islam is belief in one creator God, it just wasn't called Islam until the 6th century Ad. Judaism at it's basic pure form is closer to Islam, christianity is a distortion of what Jesus actually taught.

Christ was promised to come as our redeemer even before god took israel as his chosen nation. Gen 3:15 spoke of a seed that would be bruised but would later crush the serpent or devil and his followers. Christ was that promised seed. Before judaism.
Islam may or may not have appeared in its form if these other forms of worship had been in place as man has derived many ways of worshipping which have some common elements and other peculiar to themselves.

To Chill.: I'm sorry, but someone has to ask in order to see. I'm guessing that you are Atheist?
To answer the question in general: yes. Because the original founder of the Muslamic faith was from a Judiasim family to begin with.

So far, I, a CHRISTIAN, am offended by the question and the answers! And if Never-Never Land were a real place would we have to grow up? And if there were no people like you to ask questions that, historically, stir up all kinds of trouble, would the rest of us be able to live in peace? And what if there were a war and nobody came? And what if the Fortune 500 shared, would anyone be hungry? And What If.........???
