Well there ya go... join the AF then, be one of the few that fly and one of the fewer to make it to/through the Astronaut program. It'll NEVER happen dude... sorry to bust your bubble. Not sure of your age but if you don't know a simple rule like "a" vs "an" in a sentence, you don't have what it takes to make it to aviation school for either branch (a air force pilot???... AN Air Force pilot)

But keep in mind... dreams are not always meant to be reached, they often serve as something to aim for!

Navy has more planes and aviators than the AF.

As the saying goes "if you wanna hear god laugh, tell him your plans".
If you want good flight training go Navy. The pilots are much better, this is a fact. Yes you will have to sleep on a ship but you do not leave port with the ship. first she sets sail then the avaitors fly in after they are under way. They also leave the ship first going into port. This is for safety reason. In the Airforce as you advance in rank you do not fly as much. With the Navy you still fly as your rank gets higher.

"those days" (2006), the U. S. military has applied the warrant officer to pilot software equivalent to the army's warrant officer pilot software simply by fact the army's software has been incredibly valuable simply by fact the 60's. that's as a results of the call for for pilots. military workers who meet the necessities can drop a packet to grow to be chosen for training. in fact this suggests human beings in the army and not using a school degree can shop on with. regrettably the Air tension no longer makes use of the warrant officer rank, so the path to being a pilot must be executed in a time-honored way (rotc, college-ots) i do no longer understand a lot approximately USMC, yet I guess they're on an identical point as AF and could in all threat additionally enforce warrant officers sooner or later into the pilot positions. So I vote military. i does no longer count variety AF out yet inspite of the undeniable fact that, they're specially an AIR tension simply by fact the call implies so they get precise funds in the aviation and aerospace container. and alongside with the naval aviation branch, they're between the worlds superb aviators and combatants with precise reputations.

Naval fighter pilots fly off of carrier decks. That and the fact you don't want to live on a ship pretty much answers your question.

You answered your own dilema. If you don't want to be living on a ship, then don't try to be a Naval Aviator. Go with the Air Force.
