If I am not a virgin at my wedding, I am not wearing white, if I even get married, the white was supposed to represent purity and now anyone just wears it. Well in Asia, they were red, I think Red would be sexier, oh well!

White is a COLOR and a valid fashion choice - it has nothing to do with morals. And lots of people do wear red, and black too these days as well.

Oh..the colour of the costume would desire to be the final of any ones concern at a marriage. I also have a extra suitable challenge with people who destroy each vow they recited interior a pair of years of having hitched. that's a extra suitable concern. the marriage is only an hour out of an incredibly long life at the same time. Its no vast deal. Its the sentiment at the back of the custom that's important. fortuitously married for thirteen years (at the same time 18) and why is it rather any of your concern who's and is not any longer a virgin?? actually it rather is largely a count for the folk in touch and The Maker. i think of you sound too fascinated with the trivial, once you need to be putting your sturdy strategies to apply actually assisting people, incredibly of dropping it being judgemental. this I see as extra of a sin. and for the checklist, some others are good. White has basically been a 'trend' in wedding ceremony outfits for the previous a hundred and fifty years or so. A white wedding ceremony costume became into considered extra as a fact of wealth and prosperity, maximum females married of their 'sunday terrific' (probable gray, as an emblem of humbleness) and white, esp lace, confirmed the family contributors had money, whcih became into suited to the potential grooms family contributors. Blue has consistently been an emblem of purity interior the Christian church. with the aid of fact of this mom Mary is often depicted donning blue gowns and ladies positioned on a blue token (ribbon or broach or garter) on their wedding ceremony day. people often times dont like the actuality whilst is conflicts with their ideals that they carry expensive.

They wear it because of tradition I guess. White was never really associated with virginity even with Christians until recently (blue symbolized purity and fidelity in Christian religions ) white was a symbol of wealth and esteem because most people could not afford a special dress that was worn only once since white was a color that becomes stained so easily people seldom wore only white. This was started by a queen somewhere that married her cousin Albert. Wear what you want .. I am considering Gold or red for my wedding !!

1. You think you are so cool... yet you aren't creative enough to come up with a name!
2. You should do more research before you start questioning the decisions others make. White does not mean purity for wedding dresses. When the tradition of white dresses began, it was a status symbol. It was symbolic of wealth.
3. Who are you judge someone because they are or are not a virgin? If they aren't concerned with your life, why be concerned with theirs.
4. As for the red, it is used to represent luck. Brides of other cultures wear red becasue it is believed to bring good luck to the marriage.
Grow up!

White has nothing to do with virginity whatsoever. When Queen Victoria introduced the color in the 1800s, it was to signify wealth since only royals could afford a color that would never be worn again. Along the line, the meaning was completely skewed into something else entirely that wasn't even related. Blue has always been the color signifying purity, yet you never see anyone in a blue wedding dress.
If you don't want to wear white/ivory, then don't. Red is a gorgeous color if it is flattering on you.

Because they want to. As simple as that. Virginity has nothing to do with it.
Also it's not like you can wear a big, flowing dress with a train every day of your life, in fact you wedding is the only day you can really get away with it so why not have your chance and wear white.

I completely agree. My fiance and I are waiting until we're married - it's something I always believed (I want to be able to be honest when I wear my white wedding dress!). My understanding is that Queen Victoria started the tradition of a white wedding dress, but I don't think she meant it as a symbol of virginity. But that's what it means in today's society, so some people just need to get over that fact.

Wear whatever color you wants. Yes, the reason white became the wedding dress color was because queen someone or another decided to use it and it then became a symbol of wealth.
My wedding dress will be a deep maroon/brown and from India (if they ever reply to my e-mail). Red is becoming a really hot color in England as a wedding dress and starting to make an appearance in the united states (although in the u.s., it's starting off as splashes of color. i went to a wedding wear the bride had a blue sash)

you'll see at this website, there's no need for traditional.

Actually, the veil is more the sign of purity. White didn't become the wedding color until the late 1800s. Brides wore it not because they were a virgin, but because white gave the impression of purity.
Googl wedding traditions and you'll get the whole story.

Jinxed has it right, white has nothing to do with purity, n fact in India white is a funeral colour. It's really only deeply religious people that still look at it that way, but really, I do not see my virginity as anyones business but my own, and it's certainly not for the guests at my wedding to know about! Times and traditions change, thank goodness!
