People always have negative things to say. For some reason it makes them feel better about their lives to put someone else down. Ignore them and do what makes you happy.

Yes it is a good point. I think it is generally getting more accepted as time goes by.
One of my good friends met his wife online, he was in the UK, she was in Mexico.
Really its wrong for people to look down on people meeting like this because it is hard for people to meet new people what with busy most of the week at work and on evenings people are too tired or have no where to go out to, but its easy to get chatting and meet people on line, so many forums, games sites, etc.
I think its also nice in terms of people meet people they really like for personality and how well they get on, unlike maybe a nightclub where people seem to just meet from looks alone due to the loud music and everyone is drunk.
Good on you for meeting someone you like so much and at the end of the day as long as you are happy, forget all the people who turn their noses up about where you met!

Why can't people accept it? Because I guess that's the way they are. I met my lover on a game, and everytime i tell people the react the same way. I suppose they act like this because they've never done it before. What's new to people sometimes scares them. Yes, it's quite amazing, but to other people who've never experienced it, it's...i guess, ridiculous.

lol . think people have this perception that all blokes on the net are perverts or loons..and yeah there are a few..but there are some very nice sane ones... and cos ya dont meet in the conventional way ie down the pub on friday night...people think how can you possible know what someone is like over a computer screen....you can be less shy cos ya not actually face to face and find out loads...so enjoy and sod the conventionalists!

Met my wife through Match.com. Been together 7 years and still very much in love.
I too, hate the tw*ts who say "Oh I could never do that"
SO DON'T DO IT THEN, it's not compulsory!
Horses for Courses. It's worked for us, and as far as I'm concerned you could as easily meet some mental case in a bar as on the internet.
In fact my wife and I were corresponding by Email for 3 months before we even met. So I had a good idea what she was like.

Because there are still people who do not believe in love and its magic. My idea is because of the modern technology everything seems to be moving so fast. Even relationships. Why worry, so long that you and your loved one is going strong. You don't have to worry if they do not accept your relationship as long as you accept each other. Good Luck and have a meaningful relationship sans your critics.

its just frowned upon because all of the dangers of meeting someone on the internet and also people look at those who find love online as someone desperate pretty much. But if you find someone special you don't need to worry about what others think.
