this coming Christmas my mother will me a ps3 and i think that its not good playing it with an ordinary tv because we dont have a HD tv... :(
so ? guys what should i do?
is it ok having the ps3 played in an ordinary TV?

Yes it plays perfect on a standard tv.I have my 80GB PS3 hooked to my 24inch Sanyo SDTV and it looks great people are just tryna make you plot out more money for unecessary things just like at a dealership when you buy a new car the seller always wanna add on all these options its just for sale.

I've got a good standard TV (flat screen CRT, 100hz). The picture is amazing. Actually, if you don't have a lot of space - it's better not to waste money and go with a sdtv. TV size can be calculated like this - between you and TV must be at least 3 TV diagonals.

Yeah, the PS3 still looks great on a standard definition TV.

If you don't have a high def. TV with at least 720p, you are missing out on full utility of the PS3.

Get a Wii instead.

When you can afford a good HDTV then get the PS3.
