I think not as they are incapable of hitting the target and would probably blow Australia instead.

The US did not exactly win two wars, only one, you did not win 1812-1814,in fact it was pretty much a draw, the US invaded Canada and got kicked out, the British invaded the US and but for a Tornado hitting Washington AFTER the British had taken it and burnt it down as retaliation for what you burnt down, they retreated and you won a battle in New Orleans, hardly winning the war you started out no better than when you started in fact worse off. And in fact another answer here saying the NEW Brits beat the Old Brits is pretty much it, the amount of British born or British descent on the US side pretty much meant the British beat other British, as for the question relevant today, its so nonsensical would the US today beat the British, probably yes if they wanted to destroy Britain but at what cost ?

In a conventional war - probably not. It is quite hard to attack an island as Germany found out.
And it would take a great deal of public support to do so, and apart from Pearl Harbour, America has never been subjected to bombardment - after a few of her cities were hit my guess is that there would very soon be a public backlash against persecuting the war.

ps to those who keep stating that America has already beaten Britain in 2 wars - which wars are you referring to?

I like Paddy Range's answer and I totally agree with him, but would add, don't forget that it was the backstabbing French that played a decisive part in the 'British Civil War of America'
- so don't forget your history and if you can't behave yourselves over there - you'll have to come home! ha ha ha!

Umm thanks US people i thought u thought more of us than that! we are like the same people we have everything in common. anyway US and UK technolgy is the same becasue they pretty much share it all between eachother and the US and UK would never turn against eachother that would be stupid Britain is a big help to America. Its funny how such a small island was the worlds super power for over 800 years though i cant see that happening with the us China will probably take over.
exsft so.. you lost vieatnam and we won argentina(more powerfull than them) straight away??

America would "win" the war, as America has a much higher potential to perform massive devastation on a huge scale. America has a much much larger force than England and American Soldiers, at least Special Forces (I am referring to the military branches that don't officially exist here) are much better trained than England's. America has many many toys that it would use.

In comparison of nukes, England and America both have them, but America has more... far far more. America has the ability to reduce every square inch of the United Kingdom to radioactive dust. England has the ability to do this to only part of America.

Wouldn't it be horrible if they won ? There would be a McDonalds on every high street. Customers in sandwich bars etc would have to say "can I get" instead of just asking for the item they want and then saying "please". Grown men would, for no apparent reason, wear TWO shirts at the same time; a plain T shirt underneath another short sleeved, checked shirt !!! Suddenly, we'd all have to pretend that there is something shocking & offensive about the sight of a nipple (but only female ones, for some weird reason)

if a war did break out the USA and the UK would cripple their economies in pouring unnessecary amounts of money into the war so the outcome of the war wouldnt matter, we'd either bother nuke each other to kindgom come, as we both have several billions of pounds worth of nukes.
The fact of the matter remains, if a war between the UK and the USA were to be fought, we'd both lose.

Yes the US would! We have pretty much paridy in technology, so it falls to numbers, which we hold a massive advantage in.

But this is a pointless argument, the US UK Aussie Canada alliance is probably the strongest alliance in history. We have differences, but our fundamental belief in Free-will, Freedom and Liberty is stronger than any argument.
