Peculiar question. Why should you care what we think or know? We'd rather know why it's important to you; after all, that's why you're asking the question, right? Wouldn't a more relevant question be, "What can you tell me about Mormons?", and then add, "It's for a book report" or something similar. We're here to answer specific questions, not merely spread our knowledge around, willy-nilly!
Regardless, the Mormon religion is also known as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".
Check out the links, below.

It's not a cult! makes me very annoyed when people call it a cult just because it doesn't serve their purpose.
Yes the prophat Josph Smith did tell them that having multipul marriage was ok.
But at a point in history of the church, there were those who didn't believe that and broke away from the church. They left and went to where they are now. The denounce the belief of Jospeh Smith.

I attended a Mormon church service one time and found the format very similar to those in Baptist or Methodist churches. They teach from both the bible and their own "Book of Mormon". They believe in their prophet called Joseph Smith. I do not believe in this extra scripture. This "Book of Mormon" is man made in my opinion and is not part of the Holy Scripture.

Mormonism was founded around 1820 by the prophet Joseph Smith. This religion worships people who lived during later times.

I was raised in the church, though never went on a mission. I abandoned my belief in the Christian God when I was in my 20s. Never looked back.
I've studied The Bible (old and new) and The Book of Mormon at Brigham Young University in Idaho and in Hawaii.

it is a cult, they come to your house everyday, and harrass you if you miss church, they will give you homework, force you to read the "Book of Mormon". Preach to you about how you will become your own god in your own heaven after death. And if you leave there church they will revoke your baptism. ( which i didnt know was even possible)
then before you can get married you have to go on a rediculously long mission to spread the teachings of The Church of Latter day Saints. Avoid them at all cost
If they come to your home tell them that you practice witchcraft, or your a satanist, its the only thing that will get rid of them.
