Im starting a new job soon and im not sure what I should ask them to call me
People say Ellie is cute much maybe a bit babyish

Go with whatever you feel comfortable with, If your boss is happy enough with Ellie, I can't see why not as it's a nice name as is Elena. So go with what you want, Unless asked to use your real name. Hope this can be of some help. Be yourself that's whats really important.
PS. I don't get why you would think your name sounds babyish?

Both names are lovely and Ellie is not in the least babyish. Start with Elena and see how things develop.

I always introduce myself as Elizabeth for anything important. and if someone asks what I go by or if im a beth, liz, lizzie and so on I just say Liz is fine. I love the name Ellie. I think it's cute and attractive and fun. Just think about the stars and walking into work with the name moxie crimefighter. lol Ellie is great! No need to worry.

Personal views, my name is Patricia and I have been called that, as well as Patsy, Pat and Tricia. I answer to all of them, but when I was little if I heard P a t r i c i a!! I knew I was in trouble.
Both are great, I think people choose what to call you and if they are casual they will go with Ellie.

Without knowing your age or personality, (so I don't know which one suits you) I would go with Elena. People will shorten it to Ellie when thay feel comfortable with you. It's like a compliment. Just be gracious and don't scold them when they do.

Ellie, it sounds more relaxed than elena. I suppose it depends on what kind of job you have too.

I think ur real name is good..and i think u should continue with that..i mean just coz some people like to call u with a different name..why will u want to change ur original name??(unless u dont like the name). If somebody like to call u by the name ellie..let them call by it..bu ttell them ur real name..its their wish...

Elena is better coz its YOUR name,Your identity given by ur parents...ellie is ok but it dosnt suit wid a professional woman!

If you act proffesional what difference does a name make, my boss is called Jenni instead of Jennifer and she's very respected in our industry x
