I definitely want to have a small, beautiful destination wedding. I'm looking for opinions from other couples or wedding guests on the best places to have a destination wedding. We live in America, so really want to go somewhere outside of the USA (though we would consider Hawaii as well). I am open to any destination in the world, with the exception of:

- very very cold, icy, places
- dark and rainy places
- very commercial resorts (Sandals, Superclubs, etc)
- places that are extremely difficult to get to
- places that are very expensive to travel to (would make it too restrictive for our guests)
- places that have extremely difficult marriage license requirements for American citizens

Other than that, open to pretty much anything. We're open to beach, mountain, forest, city, tropics - whatever!

Thank you so much!

ON A CRUISE! depending where you live - you may take a 3 day 2 night cruise (a weekend) to any of the islands and you can have your ceremony there not to mention unlimited food, parties and pools.....
for the reception and ceremony itself you will have to arrange something

considering cruises can be expensive (but cheaper than your regular destination wedding - unless you are paying for the accomodations) it is the best deal for your guests
depending on you're financial state - their presence can be your present!

There are some really great places in the Cayman Islands and you only have to be there a day or two before you can get your marriage license. It's pretty popular so the travel probably won't be super expensive. If you Google "Cayman Islands" they have wedding locations on their national website.

do no longer do it! This sounds like a disaster waiting to take place. holiday spot weddings are seen to be in very undesirable style through fact of all the undue burdens they place on anybody who desires to attend. the value and time in touch for holiday, lodging, and scheduling conflicts all upload up. some will experience injury that they are in a position to't attend through expenditures or wellbeing concerns. despite if kin says they're advantageous with it , have faith me, they'll resent it interior the long-term. each physique that I even have ever wide-unfold that has had a holiday spot wedding ceremony has regretted it. it fairly is form of like taking the finished wedding ceremony occasion on your honeymoon! regarding the only ones who look to love the assumption are those interior the holiday industry. Couples oftentimes get suckered right into a holiday spot wedding ceremony by using those wedding ceremony gala's. One gimmick is to "bait" the couple by using offering their lodging unfastened in the event that they get sufficient suckers... I recommend visitors, to e book by using a undeniable venue. despite if that gimmick isn't in touch, it fairly is seen rude and selfish to place holiday and lodging burdens on those you care approximately. do no longer fall for it. Have a close by wedding ceremony with a holiday spot honeymoon.

I play for weddings in Portland Castle in Dorset, UK. So far I have had people from Australia , New Zealand and probably my favoutire, a couple where the bride was from Portland Oregon, they met in the other Portland in the USA and married in Portland Dorset. It's probably too far away and too random, but it's a nice thought. God bless you on your happy day, wherever you decide to hold it.

Destinations weddings are great, but don't be surprised when many family and friends opt not to go. Or go and don't give you a gift.
