Depends. At your age (you sound like a teen), it's worth dating all kinds of people just to get some perspective on yourself and what you ultimately want in a partner. Differences can teach you a lot.
If you're looking for a serious relationship, you need someone with compatible values and life goals, or it's not going to work out. Differences in interests and personality (outgoing versus quiet, organized versus spontaneous) are a healthy thing and can help balance a relationship, as long as both partners accept the differences.

Well, actually I think a relationship has more long-lasting potential when the partners are similar. Theres just more harmony and understanding that way, although at some point it irritates you because it feels like you know them too well and they become predictable to you.
A relationship with differences however can lead to misunderstanding. However, differences may be benefitial because they provide learning from each other and having a broader mind.
Whatever rocks your boat. If your main interest is having a like-soulmate partner then pick one who is similar to you. If you like a fun and adventerous journey pick the one with differences.

Both similar and different. In order to form a solid relationship, it is important that some of your traits be similar: specifically, family background, religious affiliation, political beliefs and ideologies, and level of integrity.
But, differences in less important things, like music and hobby preferences, actually expands a relationship. And it's always good to spend time away from each other taking part in some of those things each of you likes.

Worry about differences/similarities only when you're just looking for a playmate. The over-riding factors that are important are how you get along with each other and how well your personalities connect.
Good Luck

Not necessarily.. I mean u date or someone interest u because u see/feel that u have something in common... But people with different ideas... keep the relationship open, and bright... This is my opinion aroud ur question, but i think someone inspire u because the way she/he acts its unique, and match with ur "source".

Its better to date someone who is a blend of both. Like someone who likes somethings you like and likes different stuff also.
