Poland is being considered as part of EU and schengen visa will soon be issued to enter thereat.

Poland is an EU member (since 2004) and will join Schengen in 2008.
From December 21st 2007 the land border will be opened. From January 1st, foreigners with Schengen visas will be admitted. From March 31st 2008 passport checks in airports will stop.

it is already in the EU, it has some more implements to be applied :
Once the border controls within the EU, are lifted, there are also certain duties which will become obligatory. One of them is enforcing the outer borders of the EU, another is tightening international co-operation in fighting various forms of violation of law
