As an Ex Tommy we had our own rations, my fav was the artic issue. The question seems very strange indeed.

Con ? you were born in Nottingham, I used to go out with a nursing student in Nottingham and one of the fav places to go on a friday and sat was the Irish club, there was quite an Irish community in Nottingham back in the 70's and 80's I think its died down now, probably a lot gone home, just like my part of London, Kilburn used to be the Irish 33rd county ! but now its part of Bangladesh !

a low GI Diet would mean better food with enough energy to sustain in whatever job, I think it would help to save lives as a persons glycemic levels would remain consistent and not shoot up to fast or dip to low therefor a) lessening the chances of the person becoming diabetic and b) enabling the person to have the required energy levels to do their job well and if you are in the armed forces especially in a war zone you could be putting other peoples lives in danger if you become too tired due to your glycemic levels being too low or become too hyperactive because your glycemic levels are too high.

When i was in the army (British) we ate 3 big meals a day and snacked in between if i ate as much now as i did then i would be ginormously fat, so now a low GI diet is not needed

A low GI diet would be stupid. You'd piss allot of people off because they wouldn't want to eat according to "weight watchers". And besides, we need the calories we get in our meals (And MRE's even though we hate them), because of all the continuous and strenuous activity that we do.

no! i dont believe in specific diets. cut out this, cut out that etc,its all rubbish! cut down on fat, sugar and salt and exercise! that will do the trick. besides as a soldier you need energy so your suggestion is ot the window

Yes, I agree totally. The fewer G.I.s, the better. Our british soldiers have enough to worry about fightin Osamas barmy army, we dont need gun-totin yankee cowboys shootin at us as well. haha.
