Being spiritual is not neccessarily characterised by religious practices such as worship, prayers, meditations and other prescribed rituals. It is a way of being in which one's true being is experienced along with its connectedness to all beings(living and nonliving),its mutuality, equality and harmony with all that exists and hence treat all beings with love and respect - no?If religious practices usher in such a stae of being ,well and good; if not, what is the use of such practices?

this is a good explanation of what we strive for... this is not saying we have no passion about things ...it does not mean we are all passive.. .. It is to acknowledge and except all things and respect there rights.. as well as our own.... to live in Harmony ... when ever we can.. to grow spiritually

religious rites and rituals are there to demonstrate control of man over a believer. That's why named religions are all different - because they were invented by men.
Spirituality is about your relationship with God or the alternative.
To go through the rites and rituals does not improve your spirituality although some find them comforting.
