It isn't tar. It's the tannin leaching from the tea leaves into the milk. thats why pommies have brown stomachs, from drinking so much tea.

well i have never tried but i believe its the color from the tea "bleeding" into milk just like when u make tea the water is clear and then turns darker are u make the tea

It's the tannin in the tea. Tea is sometimes used as a natural colorant as are beets, pomegranates, carrots, etc.

because tea leaves contains tar. its a "blackening" agent. thats why your teeth can be blackened even if you dont smoke (tobacco contains tar too)..
