Hi, I've noticed lately that my memory seems to be getting worse.
I go to tell someone something and I get told that I have allready told them, or I'm convinced that I told them something and I haven't!
Yesterday I got asked for a recipy for a cake I'd made, I couldn't even remember making the cake!
The worst bit is I completely forgot all about an appointment I was surposed to go to!

I eat healthily and I exercise.
Sleep hasn't been that great lately though and I do have periods of stress....... I'm not sure, but could that be part of the problem?

How can I help myself?

I had a similar problem a few years back.

Sleep was one major factor. I would sleep for 4-5 hours maximum a night. Little did I know that when you sleep your brain stores your thoughts, and refreshes you. It is also a true fact that you can die from not sleeping.

I got myself into a routine of going to bed no later than 10 and getting up at 6, a nice healthly 8 hours. A good breakfast in the morning also helps.

I have similar problems, and put it down to a bad memory.

I don't wonder why, I just make sure I always bear in mind that I'm going to forget things. If I build this into my plans, and make some other provision for reminding myself, then It's not often a big problem (as far as I can remember!).

See memory improvement, stress, and sleep disorders, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris in sections 41, 42, and 3. Use the memos, and reminders in a cellular mobile phone, or cheap $15 PDA. the calendar in Your Yahoo, and one on the wall.

Easy answers are not always wrong... but often, the easiest answers are the ones that somehow support our emotional inclinations. If we feel passionately about something or someone, we will immediately prefer the explanation that confirms our feelings. But sometimes we project our opinions on to situations where very different criteria ought to apply. You now feel very sure about something. Think again. Really question your own certainty. If it doesn't go away, trust it. If it does, revise it.

If you are not 50+ then its nothing but your stress which makes you absent mind. Try some relaxing light Yoga, or let it happen and surprisingly one day you will find its gone. more you think about it, more it will trouble you.
