I know that it is different for everyone but still... My friend told me that she stepped on a nail so she got a big fat needle into her arm.
And it was sore and stiff fore two weeks. But I'm just getting mine out of the blue so it may be different. And I know I'm not going to make the same mistake as her not working it and what not. And my other friend David told me that he almost fainted from the pain. I wanna know your story and what it felt like!

Yes, there's that infamous prick at first--the nurse, not the needle--then for the next two or three days your arm feels heavy and sore. Severity of the symptom varies from person to person.

Depends on your version of pain. Tetanus infection could be a darn site more painful. As a builder I have had several shots over the years and they only hurt for a short while. But every one is different.

It is just awful!
They shove a 4 inch, square needle almost all the way to the bone and shoot about a gallon of stuff into you that burns for days and makes you swell up and turn red for two weeks.
You are stiff and sick for the whole time and won't be able to hold anything down, it also gives you Diarrhea!
Terrible, red colored Diarrhea!

The shot isnt as painful as the several days following he injection. You see, Clostridium tetani (the bacteria that causes tetanus) is an anaerobe that loves to hide out in deep puncture wounds where there is little oxygen. From that location, it produces a powerful toxin that makes your muscles to painfully stiffen and lock. Thus the term Lock-Jaw as one indicator of the disease is the mucles of the jaw lock.
Anyway, the painful knot of muscle that you feel at the injection site is a localization of what it feels like to have tetanus.

Yes, it hurts really bad to get a tetanus shot or a tetanus booster.

When I got my last tetanus shot it felt like someone struck me with a Louisville Slugger baseball bat! It hurt so bad for like 4 straight days!!!

Cheers

It hurts for a bit. There is a swelling and it will make your arm stiff. But just use it as normal and it will go away after a few days.

It's the same as any other injection when you get it done. Mine came up in a lump the next day and got a bit itchy.Had a dead arm for a few days too but it's not unbearable. :)

I heard that too, and then I got one. Lets just say, some people are really whiny. It felt like any other shot.
