I have been on norco, morphine ,ibprophen, percocet, thats the problem, im 28 and its been 2 years with the narcotics, and w/ out I withdraw but I do have to have another surgery and im really scared.. No one should live w/ this if there is meds to help.. Obviosly I am dependent. I just want help. i live in maine and there is not a lot of good, understanding docs here, they see me as a drug addict, and I get anxiety over that. So, i feel very alone, in pain and need some help.. Like I said i will travel for pain management doc. Sorry bout the spelling. BTW, thanks for responding.

you can take meds.
nsaid- steroids like asprin, naproxen, celebrex, etc. but they may not be great for you after your surgery

muscle relaxants- help with pain, but probably not ideal since you arent having muscle spasms.

pain meds- ultram ('non' narcotic-though this is debatable), vicodin, etc. probably the best option for short term pain relief to get through pt and tide you over until your next surgery. could be tough to get a script though. they will probably give you ultram, but i really am not a huge fan of this medicine (i took if after back surgery and it was the worst med to stop taking. this is physical dependence NOT addiction which you will discover if a doctor breaks down what your options are and they include opiates.)

i dont know what state you are in so i cant recommend a doc to you. ask your internist for a recommendation/referral.

But with each time I zap the pain is less severe. (I've had progressive pain in my feet for 2 years now. I've tried everything else.)

your doc can give you prescription strength pain releiver. don't overlook the comfort of a heating pad. deep breathing techniques work as well at the dentist as they do during child birth, so learn to focus your thoughts and relax, relax, relax.

Here is a good article:
