Jai, according to me GOD belongs to a gender called GOD. God is never he, she or it.

Reason :

Majority of The Holy Bible followers respect Jesus more than Mother Mary.

Majority of The Holy Bagavath Geetha followers respect Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva........more than Sakthi, Kaali.........

Majority of the Holy Quran followers Does not even allow women of particular age set to enter into the holy Masjid or Mosque. They say that the holiness will get spoiled if women came in.

The above also fit for some temples like Sabari malai & guruvaoor.

Buddhism says Buddha is a great saint. Women can also be a great saint if the society around them allow them and if there is no worst men(who have only sex in the mind)who keeps on torturing them.

I hate to be religious for the above reasons, but I don't hate GOD.

Please don't try to incarnate GOD into humanly created rules & regulations and humanly created forms like he, she, it, that etc.,

I believe that the Universe is a living, conscious female body. Only a female can give birth without a male, through parthenogenesis. Everything that exists is a part of Her body. She's a quantum field where everything, and every time, co-exists within Her. The larger body birthed smaller and smaller bodies and eventually life evolved as it is now, with evolution being the birth process of planet Earth, or Gaia. This is called Monotheasm ( yes, that is the way it's spelled, it's a real word used by feminist theorists and Goddess worshipers), and it is the only religion that has no conflict with science, because it is based on the potentialities of Nature.

I believe She's conscious because I believe we communicate with Her and are all a part of Her. I believe She's alive because if you understand science, she operates like a living body, not a machine. She has patterns, cycles, seasons, Her energy is dynamic, and life always exists where life is possible.

All of us begin as female. Even if you have a Y chromosome, you will be born female if certain conditions don't exist in the womb, so maleness is derived from the female. Sexual characteristics of the female body show more specialization than those of the male, so the male is "newer" and evolved later, being derived from and contained within the female.

Females are always in greater number - 54% of humans are female, only 46% male - and are usually stronger and more adaptable to their environment. There are species in which only females exist - they reproduce parthenogenically, a process triggered by mating rituals performed between two females. Female ova can be used to produce without sperm - sperm cannot reproduce without ova. They are incomplete. Under laboratory conditions, a mouse with two genetic mommies and no father was produced by combining two female cells.

When humans worshiped the Mother Goddess, we lived in peace for many millennia. Only about 6,000 years ago, when patriarchy reared its ugly head, did we develop war, rape, incest, genocide. Violence is not natural in humans, but our power structure tells us that it is because the elite class makes money from war. We don't have to live this way.

If we all remember the Goddess - even if we don't actively worship Her, just know that the Universe is a living Mother and that all life is connected - we can return to the peace that is our birthright. The simple knowledge that all life is connected would change the way we waste resources, neglect our environment and each other. When we understand that every action returns to us, we will act in our own best interest.

I know that sounds simplistic, but it is just that simple. Our illusion of separateness leads us to act selfishly. We think what we do today doesn't affect us tomorrow, but we need to realize that we don't live in a vacuum. We are part of a living system, and our health is contingent upon the health of that system.

I think the creator is both male and female because you need both in order to create. I don't think the answer is in the Bible, because the Bible is only 2,000 years old while the universe is something like 15 billion years old.

Plus, if a being could create man and woman and the sun and the moon, do we really think they would entrust representation to a relatively small number of individuals who thought that the Earth was flat at one point? Probably not.

Excellent question.

God is a spirit, so I'd say genderless, gender is an earthly thing.

The only reason we have it is for procreation, and as far as i know you don't need to procreate in heaven.

And all the people who say that God created a MAN in his image are idiots, because the Bible is talking about the human soul being created in God's image, not the physical body, God is not a physical body -_-;

In Judaism, G-d has aspects of both male an female. The hey ending on the Divine Name shows it is a feminine verb. The words "El Shaddai" mean "The big breast."

Other aspects of G-d, particularly those dealing with affliction therapy have a male connotation.

I think that God is a deity that has a paternal half and a maternal half (and obviously the paternal half is the fatherly half, and the maternal side is the motherly half).

And to Groucho, God made man in his image.. Who do you think we were made from? And don't say Adam's rib, because I meant whose image were we created after.

And I don't read the Bible, because God didn't have anything to do with it.

edit:

to Morgaine: Blessed be, sister! lmao!
