5'2" and 58kgs is not overly fat, however you are right, that at that height you should weigh around 49 - 50kg (about 110lbs) if you have a medium frame, a little less for small frame a little more if you are larger boned.
I am having similar problems. I am about 2" taller than you but proportionately need to lose the same amount.
Apparently stress effects weight, so first try to eliminate any major stress.
Also remember, the smaller you are the fewer calories you burn so you need to pay attention to how many calories you eat vs how many you burn
What I am doing is go to a website like:
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php
(click on "Activity Calculator")
or
http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/jumpsite/calculat.htm
(go to bottom of page )
Enter your desired weight, do some quick math to figure out approximately how many calories you would burn per day at your ideal weight and your normal activity level.
Then BEFORE you start your diet (at least it's what I did) write down everything you eat without worrying about it for a week, then adjust your normal eating pattern to meet the caloric needs of your ideal weight.
For instance, I am a vegetarian and after monitoring myself for a week, I found that I gravitate towards a Vegetarian "Mediterranean" Diet - lots of fresh Fruits and Vegetables, and whole grains. I just need to get rid of refined sugars (now I have only raw sugar and Equal in the house), have a 6oz glass of wine with dinner 3-4 nights a week instead of an 8 oz glass 5-6 nights.
I also found I was eating approx 60 -70 % Carbs, but only 10% fat (including about 5 mg trans fat) and 20 - 30 % vegetable/soy protein. I have adjusted that to 50% carbs - (focusing on complex carbs like vegetables, whole grain breads, oatmeal, legumes, brown rice, whole wheat pasta…) and increased the fat to 20% with mostly/only unsaturated fats like olive oil and canola oil, real butter instead of margarine and eliminate trans fat or at least keep them less than 1g pr day (FYI even if the label says 0g per serving, if the ingredients list mentions hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, solid shortenings, hard margarines, or animal fats it does contain trans fat - the loophole is that (in the states anyway, where I currently am) they do not have to claim anything under 0.5 gram per serving on the nutritional label, however, it all adds up.)
I wouldn't focus on or eliminate any one nutritional area - like low carb / high protein diets, having a variety makes more sense to me.
Anyway, it seems to me that if you simply adjust your normal diet, creating a healthier version of what you like, you are more likely to be satisfied and stick to it. Then if you eat only the amount of calories your body needs to maintain your ideal weight you won't need to go on a "maintenance" diet once you hit your goal weight.
So basically, if you should be about 50 kgs (110lbs) and you find that will burn about 1300 calories a day at that weight, simply train yourself to eat healthier versions of what you like and don't go over the calories you need for that weight.

first, after just 2 weeks and that little effort, you cannot loose weight.
second, that is not a diet, that is stupid. there's nothing wrong in eating meat, noodles, potataoes, if you watch some rules:
1. avoid fat
2. eat whole grain bread, avoid white bread like toast
3. avoid artificial conservation
4. drink at least 3 litres a day
5. eat 5 little meals over the day
6. no sugar - sweets, chocolate, cakes, cookies, etc. - if you want something sweet, take fruit.
7. if you work out, get yourself a trainer at a studio - he'll tell you which exercises and how often. but you'll have to work out at least 3 times a week, about an hour each time, I think.

Well 58 kilos is not fat- you probably just need to tone up, but if you still want to lose weight, don't eat that much rice and crackers. Drinking plenty of water is good- fruit and vegies. Eat small portions. 15 mins a day of excersise is probably not enough- you should be doing 30 mins of cardio

you aren't going to lose body fat on a diet of carbohydrates. you need to follow a balanced diet of protein, high fiber carbs, fruits/vegetables and healthy fats.
meals should be more like:
breakfast
3 egg whites, 1 serving of oatmeal, 1 orange
snack
apple and peanut butter
lunch
skinless chicken breast, small salad
snack
handful of mixed nuts or seeds, sliced veggies
diner
fish, steamed vegetables, salad
snack
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
to the poster above me Belinda...I've seen women that were 5'2 and 100+ lbs with 35-40% body fat. the height and weight are irrelevant when it comes to the body composition

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
