Some people just don't understand. Truly if they seek forgiveness they shall have it, but not before a punishment for what they have done. If a child has done something bad surely there will be consequences before that child will learn their lesson.

Humans (especially the male of the species) have been in conflict with each other even before we evolved into Homo Erectus. There are many, many reasons (territorial, carnal, religious, ideological, and political, just to mention a few, including grievous mental/emotional problems). Unfortunately, it seems to be the way humans are. We are fallible.
Too many monotheists believe that as long as they ask for their god's forgiveness and "atone" for their "sins" they can repeat the violations for which they ask forgiveness in the first place. They ARE afraid of "God's punishment" but can't stop themselves because they are, after all, fallible human beings.

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS IS CLOSER EVERY PASSING DAY
Matt.13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house:
and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of
the tares of the field. 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that
soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 13:38 The field is the world;
the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the
children of the wicked one; 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil;
the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Matt.24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came
unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and
what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers
places.24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the
world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 24:15
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by
Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him
understand:) Dan.12:1-13; Time of the end Rev.3,4,6-11,12; Satan down.
Matt.25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 25:31 When the Son of man
shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he
sit upon the throne of his glory: 25:32 And before him shall be gathered
all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd
divideth his sheep from the goats: 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on
his right hand, but the goats on the left. 25:34 Then shall the King say
unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

What has been preached lately is what makes people think differently. Now we do not here that there will be God's wrath on all who reject Him but we hear that God is love and loves everyone and do not want to offend anyone so we stay neutral but we need to be honest because people's lives are at risk from eternity

Do a Google search on "The end of the world" see what comes up. Last one I remember was in 1844, but we're still here! How can that be?

They are in denial, and don't believe that this is really going to happen until its too late, it is sad, but at least we know that we will go to a place where there will be no more sin.
All we can do is pray for these people to realize that this is wrong, and satan is roaming the earth, and gets his grip on them, there will be torture, gnashing of teeth for the ones that are not saved through Christ.

Killing and everything you mentioned has always been happening. If not we would live in a sin free world and peace all around which would also be called Heaven. Why is there more of it these days then back then? Simple answer, there is alot more people, and lots more media. Period.

So much time has gone by since Jesus' day that people think his Father, jehovah God, does not care any more.
He does.
To
Jehovah, a day is as a thousand years.
He has given us enough time to try every possible sort of government to prove we cannot live our lives properly without Him.
(JEREMIAH 10:23) I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

There are people who do not believe in God, and there are people who don't care. Unfortunately, but all we need to do is pray and each and everyone of us put an effort in finding God's way. The Jesus way. Ask for signs, ask for a humble believing heart, ask and be an obeident child of God.
God loves everyone but he wants us to do good and follow his ways. Is that too hard to ask?
