Sure. It depends on the size of your house/yard or apartment and what you are looking for in a dog. They shed a lot and are fairly large dogs. But they are also easily trained and excellent family pets.

I also have a 10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous golden and yet another 4 month previous golden puppy. they're the two great canines, and actually clever. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, the ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous could be too clever for his very own sturdy, because of the fact he's located out a thank you to flee the fence each time he needs. as quickly as we call him, he comes acceptable back because of the fact golden are somewhat unswerving and could do something for anybody in the event that they have nutrition. because of this, they're somewhat uncomplicated to coach. Goldens do ought to be brushed a minimum of as quickly as a week because of the fact they shed lots, yet they shop themselves incredibly clean and airborne dirt and dirt and airborne dirt and dirt do no longer possibly shop on with their fur. And golden doggies are only so lovable...you and your loved ones will make a lot of friends. i could get a golden...yet that's me and that i've got already got 2!!

Not unless you have to ability to look after it, so consider your ability financially, physically and emotionally. Having a dog costs money though of course to a dog lover, they will ensure that their dog is comfortable and is up to date with vaccinations, is de-sexed, has regular vet visits for routine examination, appropriate toys, good food, good bed, good worming and parasite control etc etc- this list goes on... also either buy pet insurance or save up for unexpected vet work- of course I wish that your future puppy, if you get one will be forever healthy and that there would be no need for extra vet work but you should plan for the just in case.
Physically, golden retrievers are very intelligent and need physical exercise. A full grown lad should get at least 1 hour of exercise per day- a jog will be better than a run. If you are at work all day and they are not kept preoccupied, they will find entertainment on their own but this might mean damaged furniture etc etc. So you need to have plenty of interactive and thinking toys.
Emotionally, a dog is a living thing, it is not a soft toy that can be left in a corner and only taken out when you want to play- every dog has emotional needs, dogs are pack animals and need to be with their pack, o/w this will cause them distress which will result in barking etc.
Think before you act- if your favorite pair of shoes or whatever was damaged by your dog, would you be able to scold yourself rather than the dog for not training the dog properly? To me there are no such thing as a bad dog, only lazy and bad owners.
Having a dog is a big responsibility- as is evident by the amount of people who dump their dog for many reasons but often it is because they can't handle their. Though I have 3 myself and hey if you can look after them properly, I assure you that you will have a loyal companion for years to come.

YES! They're fun and beautiful.
If you want one, go ahead and get one.
If I could deal with another dog, I would get one too. I would have a labrador and a golden retriever, but one is enough for me. At least for now.
They just need a lot of excercise. So, if you're very active, go ahead.
Good luck.

This depends on where you live. They need alot of exercise, they do not like hot climates, they love water. I had one it would swim to the bottom of a river a retrieve stones and could catch trout. I suggest you call your local Kennel club.
Also they cost money to upkeep not just your time.

If you want. There know to be intelligent dogs. You can easily trained them. An they make good Hunting, Tracking, Retrieving, and competitive dogs. But sometimes if you leave them alone for a long period of time they become a little mischievous. But remember only get one if your ready to care for it.

YES. Golden retrievers are highly intelligent dogs. If I had a chance i'd get one in a heart beat.
I live in a apt and cannot do that to a dog.... it needs a yard to run around in.

Sure, they're really nice dogs...lot's of hair though. Depends I guess, think about if theres allergy issues or if you have enough time to exercise one everyday. They love water, and people....they're very loyal to their owners. I'm sure you'd fall in love. They have the funniest little habit sometimes of retrieving things you never asked for...like your shoes :).
