An excellent choice, Turkey is so bland.
Our local butcher will do a dressed brace for about £6.
Your more than welcome to a brace from my shoot this Saturday.
Sally UK if your paying £30 a bird your getting ripped off. They don't cost that much to shoot in the first place.

Oven ready from a supermarket would cost upto £6 or £7, probably a little less from a butcher if you can find one that sells game.
Better to buy from someone involved in shooting, expect to pay perhaps £2 for a brace (a pair of Pheasants), but they would need plucking and dressing.

If you know where there is a pheasant shoot you can probably get a brace of pheasants for about £2-£3 or our local butcher sells them dressed for £7 each.

Roughly about £30. Make sure it has been hung for 3 - 10 days before being plucked. Dressing it is easy if you know what you are doing, otherwise ask butcher to do it.
Yummmm nice alternative to turkey.

Lidl have them in stock, oven ready, around £6/£7each , and quail. Contact a local shoot, as others have said, if you don't mind doing them yourself, around £2.50 a brace.
