Take advantage of the time you live in. The Bible is not contraband anymore, the Catholics are not burning them at the moment, and you can find a translation in your langauge. So study the most printed book in human history.

Whether you belive the Bible or not in the end, at least learn for yourself what it says. Think about it. Yeah, even go out on a limb and pray to the Power above to give you Wisdom and show you that He exists.

Cathy - breathe... I get the fact that you are pro-Catholic, but stop writing propaganda here. We have read enough of history to know that you like all Catholics only tell one side of the story.

Do you deny that Catholics burned bibles?
Do you deny that most of the versions of the Bible you refer to were considered illegal by the Catholic Church?
Do you know that the Bible had to be smuggled and sold on the Black Markests of Europe because of the Papal Bulls with instructions to siezed and burn any 'unauthroized' copies of the Bible?

If you deny these things, they you are a being dishonest.

You really hurt the cause of Catholics on here by defending from a false position. At least use some genuine facts of history that do not work against the Catholics.

I've read the Bible , the KING JAMES version 7 times over in my life time and no... I don't believe it because I also read other books and seek comfort in knowing that evolution is real and that science cannot be substanitated without it.

That alone is enough to glorify the beauty and vastness of our Universe from the very infinately big to the very infinately small.

Your god is not my God.

I do wish you would stop the "all Catholics" generalizing.

The Church informs me of its doctrines and teachings. I am quite free to believe these -- and remain Catholic -- or not, and worship elsewhere.

I am well aware of Church history -- the good, the bad, and the ugly. What you fail to realize in your hatred toward the Church is that what *men* do does not change the truth of the Gospel, nor that the Church teaches the truth. If we are to base our embrace of a particular faith on the historical (or present!) behavior of some of its adherents, then we are unlikely to do so at all. That covers the whole of Christianity, my dear, and others as well.

Your insinuation that Catholics don't know what's in the Bible is a favorite theme, I've noticed, but it's also a sweeping generalization with no basis in fact. Some Catholics do not; many do, including this one. And let me give you something else to chew on: It was Scripture that led me to the Catholic Church, because what I read in the Bible and what was preached and practiced in the evangelical church I attended did not add up.

Feel free to continue your personal vendetta against the Church, but kindly rein in your disdain for Catholics themselves. We are not as conveniently rolled into one lump as you would like.

I look to the word of God the Holy Bible for counsel and strength and I learned a long time ago not to hunger for the approval of men but rather be pleasing to the Lord see Psalm 118:8. I was raised very religious and when I got saved I had a very legalistic teaching at times in one church and a prosperity gospel in another church. At 35 years old God allowed me to fall and fall very hard and I started to see the truth that Jesus is all there is and all we need and because of what Jesus did on the cross I am forgiven and I am restored. I read my Bible every day so I can grow strong in the Lord God bless you e4g

When you know a think then you don't talk and discuss. It's understood and clear. For example you are a human being. You don't have to prove it by discussions. If some one says prove it, then silence is the answer.

When you don't known anything, you start believing. Then useless discussions starts and you move round and round, as a dog is trying to catch it's tail.

Yes, I've read my scriptures (And some that aren't the Bible, mind you), and I am absolutely convinced that the Catholic faith is incorrect. I am of a different religion, and I have studied the doctrine, and prayed about it and decided for myself what to believe.

No, but I will listen to an argument. If it is convincing, I will at least examine it further. But the bible has far too many errors to be worth much study.

I've tried, but I prefer to here stories fro my dad, who was brought up in Lutheran school. He knows the bible cover to cover and back again. But he doesn't believe it.

The bible is a very dull book. I'm not sure how anyone stands to read it...

I did all that - still do - and that's why I worship the Mother Goddess.

The bible is only important to me because so many people think they know what's in it, and they don't, but they'll kill over it anyway.
