just because they celebrate christmas, easter, all saints'...

when in fact the concept of the existence of god itself is pagan (or animism) in origin.

Probably because catholics worship idols and the dead instead of focusing all their devotion to the One GOD. They also engage in ritual prayer, a common pagan practice, confess to priests instead of the Lord, accept a Pope as a spokesperson for GOD when GOD already speaks through the Word and have built up proud temples built on foundations of money that could be better spent on serving the poor, which is true service to GOD.

Because much of Catholicism is based on Pagan practices.

They use rosaries, which are Pagan - Jesus didn't approve of "vain repetitions" in prayer.

They pray to Mary, who is a stand-in for the Great Mother Goddess. They tolerated the emphasis on Mary because it was more profitable to let the Irish Pagans have her and convert them to the church than to kill them outright as they were at the time.

They pray to saints, when there is NO biblical basis for this and many biblical admonitions against idolatry and usurping the name of the Lord. They have a Pope, also not in the bible.

All of the Catholic rituals, the incense, the holy water, etc. are basically Pagan.

Most protestant sects don't do any of the rituals, talk about saints, etc.

The concept of Animism is definitely Pagan. The idea of gods do precede the Abrahamic religions, but patriarchy and the Abrahamic religions are intimately connected.

Most Pagan religions started out with Goddess worship. The smart ones stayed there. The rest of us need to get back there before it's too late.

Well you see the Catholic Church is the one true Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, when Christ gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven to the apostle Peter. The Catholic Church is the only church that has been going for 2,000 years. Some people did not believe in the doctrine so they broke away and started their own denominations and to this day they accuse the catholic doctrine as false. And they even tell lies to make them feel better.I often wonder why they care what Catholics believe in. Why do they get so angry ?We never criticse other denominations .They are free to do as they please, but mention the word "Catholic" and all hell breaks loose.I think they are angry because their Religion did not come first therefore they behave like spoilt bratts which gives them some kind of pleasure. .Mary said "One cannot believe,be a Christian,if he does not respect other religions as well. You do not really believe in God if you make fun of other religions."

EDIT...The answer given by His Divine Shadow is completely wrong and being a former Catholic should no better. He says Catholics worship idols FALSE. Confess sins to a priest instead of God FALSE see the Pope as a spokesperson FALSE.

See what i mean ?
EDIT.... Morgane...Stop telling lies about Catholics .You are just a trouble maker. Things have happened after the Bible was written.Your Bible won't save you . You have already offended God and Mary, but you cant even see that..You people are so ignorant and arrogant you cant possibly be Christians.God loves everyone and he would like us to do the same .Satan must be in control of you, that is the only explanation i can think off.

Like all the great saints,Saint Dominic deeply loved God's Mother,Mary. He dedicated his priests the Dominicans,to her. Dominic taught men to love the name of Jesus. He longed to make them know and love the sweet Mother of Jesus. He wanted them to pray to her,to think of her,to recall the wonderful life of Jesus and Mary. Mary loved her son Domonic. So she gave him a string of beads like a necklace. She taught him how to use it .She asked him to give it to the world. And from that day on,men and women have used the Rosary when they pray to God's Mother.

Because it is clear that Catholic traditions were inherited from paganism during the early centuries.

The concept of the existence of God is not derived from paganisms. It is clear in the bible that God created all things and he is spirit ever since unlike pagans who worship things in this world.

Even because the accusation is true.
Which sense would you lack, not to be able to perceive any difference between what JESUS taught, and what The Roman Catholic Church teaches?

For some denominations, their theology can only make sense if the Catholic Church is discredited.

For them, it is essential that they attack the Church and make it's theology look as if it can't work.

Just remember that any theology that has to build itself up by knocking others down is a theology that leaves a lot to be desired.

Catholics, unlike protestants and like the pagans, worship and pray to saints and such. worship idols such as the virgin Mary. The crosses that they wear are different as well. The Catholic cross has Christ still upon it. Where as the Protestant cross does not have Christ upon it. The significance of that is that Christ is no longer burdened, or on for that matter, any cross.
These are a few things that cause some to pause.

To Ninja Turtle AM

I was a Catholic before and there is so much joy being alive in Christ than being dead in religion.

Because they want to demonize them. Catholics believe in Christ, therefore they're Christians, just like the Protestants and Eastern Orthodox Christians.
