Ok so basically every night when I go to sleep I have this dream (well I'm not so sure it's a dream anymore) that this naked old lady with eleven fingers and a glass eye comes into my bedroom dragging somthing in a sack. It seems that I'm awake when this is happening...and no I'm not suffering from any "psychological" problems...so don't even go there.
Anyway, I'm always really scared when I see her, and even when I ask her to leave, she tells me that she will; but only after I accept a gift from her. Well so far every time I've refused the so called "gift" (which i assume is whatever's in the damn sack) So what should I do? Get help...from a therepist, priest? Should I "accept" her gift sometime? I'm pretty scared of her and the sight of her really scares me, but I've tried everything to get rid of her; sleeping pills, the works. Thanks =)

It sounds to me like you are having sleep paralysis. You mention that it seems as though you are awake when all this is happening. Sleep paralysis sort of keeps you in this state where you are half awake and half asleep and your mind starts to hallucinate things. The most common thing most people dream about is demons. They'll usually see strange figures in thier room and sometimes they won't be able to move or talk and they feel as though they are being suffocated.
My advice would be to just try and relax before bed. Watch your favorite TV show or listen to the radio. Take a warm bath before bed and clear your mind. Also, try going to sleep a little earlier as lack of sleep may be causing all of this.
Good luck!

Yes. Have you ever heard of dream demons? Or the incubus, or the Succubi? The idea of spirits and demons visiting us in our sleep has been part of mythology and folklore for a very long time. Many people believe that modern day man has experienced this same phenomena today, but spirits and demons have been replaced by Aliens and abduction stories (the big eyed, big headed, grays).
Modern scientists have tried to come up with an rational, "scientific" explanation for this feeling. It has been classified as "sleep paralysis". This feeling has also been linked to sleep disorders, like snoring, restless leg syndrome, sleep walking, and sleep apnea.
It's all up to speculation, and your beliefs.

my opinion....your (or anyones dream) is your sub-conscience annoying you about issues in your daily life. depending on your self esteem and ability to deal with daily issues could contribute to disturbing scenarios while you sleep. I have them every night. I happen to be a control freak... I want to make it all good and happy life for my family....that is not reasonable but while acknowledge it ... i still dream about it. dream is a nice word.. i have nightmares and they are so real it's more scary than the idea was. I have tried to embrace it ...every day that nothing horrible happens--is a good day. not sure why I feel the need to punish myself in that way. but I am thankful everyday I have no horrible drama to deal with. all of that said....confront your "old lady demon" and make her open up the sack. it is, after all, a dream. I'm not making fun of your dilemma...my daughter used to have night terrors...it was horrible. I would sit beside her and talk her out of her nightmare by bringing her to another place....the park, a party, a family get-to-gether. whatever it took. and it always worked. it was exhausting. she's 18 now and has no memory of any of it. i hope that helped you. I guess you need to have the strength to fight your demons. you are in control...not them. good luck to you.

I used to have dreams about the devil......really bad ones. I'd dream he'd possess me or try to.......it was so intense, I'm cringing right now. I remember I would have to say the "Our Father" over and over and over in order to wake up. But, eventually, I saw a priest about it and he helped settle the tension.
