Whoa!!!.............39 answers. The most I've had. I think we all pretty much agree that this is a special time of year. What do I love about it?...........Extra family time, No work, Everyone being extra friendly, the lights and decorations, mince pies, Turkey and stuffing, the wonder and excitement in my children on Xmas morning, the wine, brandy, sherry, and enough books and socks to last me the whole of the next year.
@ Xenon actually it's possible to be an agnostic atheist in that you do not believe in the existence of any gods, but you won't rule out the 'possibility' that they might exist!!!

...don´t worry, Christmas nowadays has nothing to do with being a christian or believing in god...just enjoy it, if you have the privilege of not having to work on christmas...
...."have yourself a merry little christmas"...

if you were to take the word CHRISTMAS and switch it to fun winter day, everyone in the world would still celebrate it. these days chritmas is more about gifts family and fun than the birth of jesus christ. So it doesnt make you weird. you just like winter, and giving, recieving, and family tradition! have a good christmas!

Why? You like songs and cheer and bright lights and maybe snow and giving and receiving presents and eating special foods of the season. So what's to hate? At least you can sleep late on Christmas morn (no 6am mass) and don't have to worry about spring not returning and sacrificing to the Winter God, not being pagan.

Why would it be weird there are alot of different things to love about Christmas. Family, friends, warmth on a cold night, decorations, sharing, surprises, joy why would it be weird for an Atheist to love those things.

There are a lot of nonsecular traditions connected with Christmas that everyone of all walks of life enjoy. There is nothing weird about it. Christmas is everywhere. It is easy to get swept up in the hype.

Christmas is really a secular holiday now-a-days. Most people just exchange gifts as a ritual without even realizing the religious significance of it all. I don't think it's weird.

No, not at all. Although many Christians bemoan the fact that the "true meaning of Christmas" has been lost, that doesn't mean that you aren't free to celebrate Christmas however you like. Enjoy!

You love christmas for the lights, the weather, the shopping, the american traditions, food, presents, the tree and corney movies that come on lifetime every night....... I love christmas for CHRIST. Notice how much people try to take Christ away from things you cant. Its not a day of gifts and tradtion its a day to praise God for being Born, as a sacrafice out of love , its a day to honor him, have a feast and tradition in his name. it will forever be CHRISTmas!

It isn't wierd it's the Hallmark influence
I have Buddhist friends who celebrate Christmas and don't even associate the day of Christ with Christ...they do however have strings of lights and a pine tree in their living room...
