Don't say it's not. Just answer. I already know your answer, so don't bother. Seriosly though, if your right... than nothing happens to me. But if i'm right than something rather unpleasent might happen to you. All i'm saying is that it deserves some true research. If you try to say science proves it, than it just proves you haven't done your research. Wait before you get angry, I never used to believe in god. you know what stopped me.... Either my scoffing walking after my own lusts. Or flat out my foolish pride.

I believe in hell and also believe that whoever says that "God begets" is going hell. So, you tell me why you want to go to hell??

As you requested, I will assume for a moment that hell is real...

I'll also make the assumption that you are referring to the christian version of hell, as I'm sure you view that as the only "reasonable" (chuckle) definition of hell.

My first thought is that if I were forced to spend the rest of eternity around the souls of others, I would much rather spend it with other people that learned to embrace life on earth, rather than squander life on what was really nothing more than a geographically aided hunch.

My second thought is that, assuming your hunch is correct in all respects, I was bound to end up there from the beginning. If your god is truly all powerful and all knowing, then he knew precisely how I would live my life; in fact he would have created me for the exact purpose of living my life as I did. There is no such thing as being "mostly omnipotent"....or "kind of all powerful".

Finally, if the lives I have saved and the goodness I've done on earth (which were done because they were the right thing to do, not because I ever expected any sort of reward) was not good enough to land me in a pleasant afterlife, than you can keep your god.....I've no use for him whatsoever. Under terms such as that, I find your god to be petty, childish, and self righteous and would gladly spend an eternity in agony to have retained my free will here on earth.

What if you chose the wrong god ? The right one will be there waiting to send you to hell . In fact the OT even states that unbelievers are more acceptable to God than those who worship the wrong god .

EDIT : for Gigi , Honestly , How old are you ? Don't you think you should at least be in High School before you try to make arguements . Obviously you are just making up things from a young , young mind . If this man lived and went to hell either he would be famous , or he is psychotic .

I am not a religious man by any stretch of the imagination. I go to church if I visit my parents during Christmas and my mom asks me to come with them on Christmas eve. I've got nothing against churches and beliefs and all that, just really nothing for it either.

There's the background.

So, would anyone like going to hell IF it were real?

No.

Gee, that was easy.

Now the digression:

Even nasty people don't like hurting. Even masochists don't like constant pain. Even drunks don't like being constantly drunk. Even adrenaline junkies like to come down once in a while. Trust me, oh yes: if the catholic/born-again-Christian vision of a swirling melange of constant pain, suffering, awfulness, horribility, fire, and ice is true, then no one would like to be there. No one at all. I've heard that version of hell described, and while I reasonably dismiss its existence with no hesitation at all, I freely admit that neither I nor anyone else would ever like it there.

A re-statement of Pascal's wager?

Seriously, I can't think of a worse reason to believe something than "the consequences of being wrong are too great." What if Kali is the real deal? Aren't you going to anger Her by praying to your "false God"? Won't she rend your soul and send you back to the beginning of your incarnations for your impudence? If you're going to live by Pascal's wager, then you have to apply it to ALL religions--not just your own--and follow the religion that has the worst consequences for lack of belief/worship (so you can avoid those consequences).

Bravo! I am glad that someone out there has done some research and figured out the truth. There is only one thing that I would like to add. There is a hell and it is a real place . It is the most horrible place that you could ever think of and when my neighbor died and went to hell, he cried for weeks after he came back. He was so distraught! He called a pastor before he dies the second time, because he did not want to end up there again. He changed his life after the first experience in hell. .

If some of the people on here who claim they're going to Heaven actually are, something tells me I'd rather be in Hell. Better to be in eternal torment physically than to have to deal with the mental agony certain users put me up to.

If God sends nonbelievers to hell for not believing in God, then that's not the kind of God I choose to believe in. If God is so concerned about people believing, then maybe S/He should provide some more proof. But you sound like you already have your mind made up.

Are you confident they do? how a lot of human beings have you ever been with on the 2d of demise, and who've reported all of them of sudden have faith in God and Hell? This sounds like a self-gratifying concept held by using folk who already have faith in God and a Lake of Unquenchable fireplace.

I like that question, I've got Jesus Christ eternal life insurance. That puts them to the test. Many of of you are complaining that God is not fair. He made a way to seperate the good from the wicked, because no sinful flesh can enter the kingdom of God. He showed us the way through Jesus of how to be saved & if we don't want to follow it why do you all blame God? He even proved how much He loves us by allowing His only Son to die for our sins. What does it take for you to open your eyes & ears & accept the truth? Peace!!!

But you did answer this in your first line as it does not exist so therefore it is a moot question.
Its just like being in the schoolyard again,
"OOOOOh lets just say..."
It is no different to me asking "are you going to North Pole to visit Santa this year?"
