Interesting question

A lot

I am mormon and we actually believe the US is a promised land established to help bring forth the restoration of the gospel. The gvt, economic system, reformation of christianity, were all inspired to pave the way to this restoration. We dont believe that the country will always remain a promised land, however. If the nation falls far away from God then it will eventually fall. That is basically the theme of the book of mormon.

There is also a lot of wars in the book of mormon and it basically establishes the idea that religious freedom is an incredibly important thing worth fighting for. Freedom in general is an important theme in the book of mormon as well, so that of course would influence mormons to have more acceptance for the idea of going to war if the cause is just. We dont just believe that sometimes war is acceptable, but sometimes it is absolutely neccesary.

I love the US for sooo many reasons. I am soooo grateful to have been born in the US. I think my religious views help to appreciate this country even more, and the freedoms it provides. I do also think our nation needs to be careful not to fall away from God, however, and when the nation turned to prayers after 911, instead of the cursing of Gods name, it was a bit reassuring.

None. I have my religious believes which are just that believes. I am a Patriot because I truly love the country I live in, the United States. I am an Air Force Retiree and served my country to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

My religion is one important belief I have and my country is another important belief I have. You can have many different beliefs in different things. That is why I said "none" to answer your question.

I believe in Matriotism - I'm a citizen of the whole wold.

Patriarchal religion and patriotism are two branches of the same political force used to control the masses. Sane people will commit unspeakable atrocities if you make them believe they're doing it for 'god and country'.

This is a great question!!

As a Christian I am patriotic to an extent.

The Bible says we are to support those appointed over us, for they are appointed by God. Eventhough, I do not agree with everything our government does, I pray for them to make the right decisions.

We are also to keep the ordinances of the land.

We must be careful though to not get over patriotic, as Christians our allegiance should be to God and God only.

The Bible also states that we are strangers in an ungodly world.
I feel blessed to be an American, to be free.......but I also pledge all my allegiance to Jesus, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

None, like William B. However, I am curious to know how fighting in Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf [ + sundry other places ], protects and defends the constitution of the U.S. ? As a non-American [ yes there are a few of us ], I perceive your biggest threats as 'internal' !

I am a Christian - my loyalty is to the kingdom of God, not this petty nation-state I live in which will pass away and be burned up in a flame at the end of time.

No, my hope is not in my country, but I obey the laws of my country and, as I think my country has some of the finest laws in the world in terms of securing freedom for it's citizens, I will support my country and my leaders. Even if I didn't think my country was the best country in the world I would still support my leaders because my religion states that I should pray for and support those in authority over me (Romans).

That depends on your definition of "patriotism." I'm an atheist and I believe that maintaining a secular society is key to maintaining democracy (and thus, American values as I understand them). So I would say that my desire to allow freedom of and from religion is very patriotic.

None, because I'm non-religious in this present time. I am for patriotism.
