I have two adorable American Eskimos and I have one Diva dog who hates bath time, chokes on water even when she drinks it and wouldn't consider taking a dip in a pool. My other Eskie is the best example of bad backyard breeding I've ever seen. She was born with one eye, a cleft palate, deformed hips and chest. But, no matter what you do to her she is having the time of her life. We shaved off all of her hair this weekend (it too isn't like Eskie fur, it matts badly) and gave her a shower and she was smiling to the gills. Nothing phases her, although it did take her 2 days to come out of hiding, she was embarrased at first to be hairless, but enjoyed the experience. Diva dog would have put up a huge stink, she would have acted like she was in immense pain and then would have ignored you for days if you would have done the same thing to her.

My dog loves water: he goes absolutely mental with excitement when we go to the beach. Loves jumping through the waves or swimming to get a ball.
BUT for some strange reason, he hates baths. He just doesn't like being forced into it I guess. He stands there looking up with big sad eyes and then when he gets out he runs like a maniac around the backyard. What a character.

Im not sure 'enjoy' is the right word for him! LOL He does get in with some protest then just gives me mean looks until he is done. Head down, tail between his legs. After he runs around the house like a crazed maniac!

My dog loves baths!! We used to have Dutch rabbits, and the two rabbits and my puppy would all take baths together, and it was so cute to watch them play in the tub!! Now she takes her baths alone, but she still loves them and likes to have her nails done and paws rubbed afterward. She also likes that she gets extra treats after.

Yes. He is always trying to get in the shower. And while I'm running the bath water for him, he jumps in on his own and sometimes he thinks he's swimming

My late dog "Levi", loved his bath so much I had to be careful not to mention the word BATH at any time as he would run to the bath and bark till he had his bath.
After a bath he would run around the house barking till he was exhausted.

My poodle/bichon cross (who passed away two days ago) needed regular washing, grooming and clipping but in the 14 years of his life never got to like it. He would shiver, shake and try to get out of the bath if you didn't hang on to him. He didn't like walking on wet or long grass either for some reason, but would stay out in the back yard in the rain and get soaked.

he tries to hide during bath time.
Once I find him tho he does tolerate the bath. He does enjoy snuggling in a towel after his bath
