Easy, inexpensive food does not need to be from a box or the prepared food aisle!
Buy staples at the asian market- rice, onions, potatoes, and yes , ramen-
Add meat that is on sale-a whole chicken can feed a family of four for TWO dinners if you plan it right, pork chops often come in bulk packs of variety of types- even steak is inexpensive if you buy the cheaper cuts and marinate it and cook appropriately.
Find a "theme"- for example, tonight, I had a whole chicken- cut it into quarters ( put the back and gizzards in a zip lock in the freezer for soup stock later..) poured some generic brand spagetti sauce on top ( about 1/4 of the jar) and some italian seasoning, and baked for 45 minutes- served with spaghetti and the rest of the sauce- and still have one pretty good sized chicken breast left over for italian chicken salad for lunch tomorrow.
Good Luck!

Good question. You can try buying flavored lunch meat, for example peppered beef, peppered chicken, cajun turkey try using about 2 slices from each pack and combining it in a skillet with 1 tsp butter, 1 tsp shredded cheese and a little onion/garlic (optional). cook till golden but not burned. serve in between either homeade garlic bread/toast or buy the store bought brand and serve with a nice glass of either juice or soda or whatever u like. I've done this a couple times on a tight budget and it helps out well.

Hot and spicy shrimp:

1 pound of med shrimp
12 oz salsa (med or hot)
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup bbq sauce

Cook the shrimp add in the rest and boil about 2-3 min
Serve over rice...

Sloppy Joes

1 pound ground beef (drain off the excess fat)
Use the a milder salsa but the same ingredients...perhaps add more bbq and ketchup.
Brown the beef, drain fat, add sauces...cook for about 5 min
Serve on buns..

Both are super easy same basic ingredients....

these are mostly ramen noodle recipes, which are good to know. But if you want a really weird one try this. (it's very popular when you are in jail..which makes it about as ghetto as you can get lol) One bag of cheetos one small sausage (like the hot ones, or summer sausages) some pickle juice (hear me out lol) and some crackers crush cheetos, cut up sausage into tiny pieces, pour in the pickle juice, mix all together in the bag of cheetos. eat it with crackers. it's good in a weird sort of way.

Take a piece of white bread. Put a slice of Kraft American cheese on top, bite off the end of a hot dog and put on top. Nuke for 30 seconds. Fold it up and it's almost like a ballpark dog. Ketchup and mustard optional.
