ok yesterday i was following this old lady who could barely see over the steering wheel. and i was in a hurry to get to the store to get myself some groceries. note: it was my day off, and i had others things to do that day. so as i was following her, she kept looking in her rear view mear, and was doing at least 5 mph under the speed limit. we came to a round about, and it was very congested, she stopped and had no clue what to do. i honked my horn, and she started acting like she was scared. i then honked again, and flashed my lights. and she drove her car right into the yield sign and another car hit her. so finally i was able to get past her, and she was blocking the whole lane. tere were people yelling at me, and the old lady was crying. i just dont understand why they let old people who are afraid to drive have their licenses/ it really annoys me. luckily i got to my destination in time, and was able to enjoy my day off, but she really made me mad. whats wrong with some people?

I too get impatient with drivers who are pokey, but there is no law that states all drivers MUST go the speed limit. that is the MAXIMUM allowed speed. Any driver can go slower for any reason.
You come across like one of those impatient types who are constantly tailgating someone. I hope that is not true.
You make it sound as if you left the scene of an accident. I hope that is not true or you could be ticketed.
Give the elderly a break. Some of them have no one to chauffeur them around and it is too hard for them to walk to a bus stop. Some have terribly stiff knees and hips.
You may one day be the elderly driver.
IF you live long enough.

The roundabout was congested, and you were such an impatient idiot you were honking your horn and flashing your lights at her? I am 60, but if you did that to me you would be hauled out and spanked like you deserve, you impatient twerp.
By the way, since there was no emergency, honking your horn would be a ticket in many cities.
What the heck is wrong with people like you anyway? They sell a driver licence to just about anybody at the army surplus store now!
Learn to drive! And learn some road manners!
And a witness leaving the scene of the accident? I would hope the police have your licence number so they can come bother you for a little chat.
You are also the self-admitted little Nazi who believes in some of the same things Adolph did. You are also bigotted against immigrants, so you deserve very little respect.
I highly doubt your Yahoo id survives with the crap you have been spewing in various posts.

You are a poor example of a person. You intimidated that poor little lady into doing something she was unsure about and she suffered for it by getting into an accident while you went on your merry little way. Your destination was more important then even stopping to help the woman. Someday you will be a little old man (if you survive) and will probably get confused as well. Hopefully there will be some young kind person behind you when this happens and not a bleeping idiot like you!

It is a problem when senior citizens are to proud and don't want to face the day when it's time to turn in their keys and drivers license. Rather than cause her to have an accident, you should have taken down her license # and turned it into law enforcement. Man,It would probably be out of your way, but you could have taken another route or just pull over and took a breather. I had a heart breaking task 3 years ago, when I called the family together and we had to tell my wife/their momma that we had to take her keys from her. She was always a very good driver and never had as much as fender bender but with age there comes a time a guy has to give it up and become dependent on other means of transportation. It will in time happen to the best of us.

What's wrong with some people is they don't think. They let their feelings dictate their actions, and the actions don't produce the desired result.
In the future, don't honk your horn, ever. You honked it because you wanted to get to your destination faster, right? How'd that work out for you? Not good. So you'll know next time not to do that, because it simply does not work.
Only an idiot would repeat something that has such awesome backfiring potential. Don't be an idiot. Do something that gets results instead.

I find it more annoying that they allow drivers who think their own, personal, business is more important than basic courtesy and safe driving.
YOU were, at least, partially resposible for causing the collision and, you couldn't be bothered to stop and render aid. (in most states, the use of the horn is for emergencies only) Were the groceries THAT important? Was the enjoyment of your day more important than the enjoyment of hers?
If you are expecting sympathy, you'll only get it from selfish drivers who may, someday, victimize YOU because you don't drive up to THEIR standards.

It's you that has the problem. What's wrong with you scaring an old lady like that? You could have been a help but instead you rather complain and blame other people.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 15- to 20-year olds. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 3,467 drivers in this age group died in motor vehicle crashes in 2005 and an additional 281,000 were injured. Drivers age 15- to 20-years old accounted for 12.6 percent of all the drivers involved in fatal crashes and 16 percent of all the drivers involved in police-reported crashes. Twenty-three percent of teen drivers killed were intoxicated. In 2002 the estimated economic cost of police-reported crashes involving drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 was $40.8 billion, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Among licensed drivers, young people between the ages of 15 and 20 have the highest rate of fatal crashes relative to other age groups, including the elderly. In fact, the risk of being involved in a fatal crash for teens is three times greater than for drivers age 65 to 69.
Immaturity and lack of driving experience are the two main factors leading to the high crash rate among teens. Graduated licensing laws, which include a three-phase program that allows teen drivers to develop mature driving attitudes and gain experience behind the wheel, have been successful in reducing teen motor vehicle accidents.

Dude!
I say that all the time. Cause' a month ago, an old man was going soooooo slow & almost hit this semi-truck in the left lane. It scared the hell outta' me, because all I heard was this loud horn. It was the truck blowing at the old man. I was behind the old guy at first (cursing, swearing, etc.). When I went around him I felt bad. He was old! Then, that's when I heard the loud horn, because he almost merged over and hit the truck...
I said the same thing u' said! Why let scary, older people drive?
But...one day...that could be me :(
So, we gotta' 4give them.
