I don't have an eating disorder so don't start on me, but I feel like I've gained too much weight lately. It needs to go away. I'll be at the gym and all that tomorrow but for today, can I just make myself throw up once?

how do you think people with bulimia get started?

You are just coming off of Thanksgiving, everyone feels like they have gained too much weight lately, me included. BUT... most anorexics and bulimics, don't start off thinking they have an eating disorder. They justify, just this one time, and then, the next time its easier, its a vicious cycle which is why people freak out at the mere mention of inducing vomit. Throwing up really won't help anyway, it's only going to be one meal. So just enjoy the good food you've been eating this last week and spend 5 extra minutes on the treadmill tomorrow. You will be just fine, weight fluctuates anyway. Oh, and I just started Yoga, apparently the twisting postures aide in digestion, so try some yoga moves tonight. Just run a search on You Tube, tons are available.

It may not sound like a big deal but if you do it once and start liking the results than it will become an addiction which will lead to an eating disorder, it's not just going to be one time everyone always you know?
So be careful, really bulimia, yellow teeth gross think about it.
Just lay off the carbs and exercise and you''ll be good promise!

No. Just eat something low in calories and go for a walk or something. Besides, your body burns 2000 calories a day without doing any excersise, so unless you've gorged yourself and ate way over 2000 calories, you won't need to throw up cos you won't put on any weight if you've eaten less than 2000 calories. Also, throwing up on purpose is unhealthy, even if it's just once

You don't have an eating disorder yet....but if you think throwing up once a day to lose weight is in any way OK, then you are heading that way.

I hate to say this. But yes its ok. I know because I've done it before. About 3 years ago I made myself throw up a couple times. I stopped and never did it again. I am healtthy 5'5 and 125lbs. It really depends what person you are, how you think, how you react. ALL of that matters. People that have a eating disorder are usually "weak minded." Just think about it, do you think you would ever had bulimia???

Heres the deal from a bulimic...
When one purges they only get 20-50% of the calories back up IF they get to purge RIGHT AFTER THEY EAT...
Within 5-30minutes...
There are risks, such as acid refulx, Erosion and discoloration of tooth enamel from stomach acid , Inflamed glands resulting in a "chipmunk" or "moon" face, Esophagus damage, Permanent organ damage, Heart attack, Co-occurrence of clinical depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder...

You may be thinking, "It's only once"... But is only getting rid of up to 1/2 of your cals. worth all those risks, you can damage your Esophagus the first time, and if you exercise right after you purge you double your chances of having a heart attack...

If you need to vomit and it isn't coming up ok. If you're just doing it to get what you just ate up then that's the start of bulemia.
