If it itches like crazy, it could be athletes foot.
If not, then it is probably just a common skin rot, caused by long term moisture in between the toes.
Clean well, and let completely air dry - then moisturize - and use a little powder before putting your athletic shoes on.
To be safe, you could get a can of aerosol Tinactin and spray it over both feet and toes. This will keep any fungus from spreading. May burn a little, but worth it.

...this could occur from dry skin or even having sweaty feet...it could also have alot to do with your shoes and how tight your socks are

yeah, sounds like it. buy some Tinacin and this should help.
