I am not a doctor nor do I have any medical training. but I have heard that some surgery's can increase the risk of blood clots. Either way you should talk to a doctor about this chances are something is wrong. it might not be serious. It might not be a blood clot. If you have great pain in any of your legs or chest , dizziness or extreme headache , double vision or extreme muscle weakness or difficulty breathing theses could all be symptoms of a blood clot. I know I am missing some symptoms you should research blood clots on the internet.

Yes. Very common. It could be a DVT (deep vein thrombosis). This type of thrombosis is a common medical problem after surgery and it can cause pain and swelling in the leg. It is not life-threatening but, if a blood clot breaks into pieces and travels through the body to the lungs, it can block the flow of blood through the lungs. This is called pulmonary embolism

PLEASE go to the doctor. Blood clots are very serious, sometimes fatal, and there is a higher chance of getting a clot after surgery if they didn't put stockings on your legs or give you blood thinner. It would be better for you to go to the doctor and be fine than to not go and it be serious. If it is a clot and you don't see a doctor, it could move up to your lung. For your own safety, go.

Lower leg symptoms are more classic in the presentation, but to answer your first question... YES. A surgery can increase your risk. And from what I hear breast reduction is a pretty major procedure. See your doc. You just need a quick venous doppler. Painless test.

if you have any concerns at all call your doctor. blood clots are very serious and can lead to death. I just had a C-section in september and that is technically surgery and i had to rest a lot afterward. they put things on my legs to stimulate my muscles to prevent blood clots and i wasnt allowed to cross my legs or anything. if you have any concern seriously call your doctor and get a professional opinion.

All of the above responses are true...but I'd add call your doctor ASAP...and go to the ER. Better to be safe then dead.
