Yes, I agree with you. There is absolutely no reason why people should hate atheism or atheists. Atheism promotes good by encouraging rational and critical thought. This is something that the world needs right now.

Hatred, particularly of God, is a normal human attribute and nobody promotes good '...the fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good (Psalm 14:1).

Here's a hint... a religion that hates homosexuality, promotes slavery, and is prejudiced against women having rights... its not good.
