As a 20 year old civilian, currently a sophomore in college, is it possible to be accepted in to OCS if I enlist? Clean record, not even a parking ticket, 3.2 GPA, don’t drink, don’t smoke, no drugs. I read that the main ways to become an officer are ROTC and OCS, but if I can become an officer by enlisting, I’ll just save my time and enlist. Rather than wait 2 years.

going enlisted first is the long way round. your need the 4 year degree first, and you won't have the time to get it while on AD in less time than it will take to just finsih college and be done with it.

unless you want the Army's Warrant Officer Program..you will fly Helos and no degree is necessary. but you must apply directly to that program.

Everyone who stated you need a college degree is correct. No degree no basic course.

I recommend that you go to your local ROTC office and take the ROTC Basic Course (4 weeks long) and then get into the ROTC advance course (contract with a monthly stipend). The 4 weeks are not that hard. Plus you will have a summer camp at glorious Fort Lewis, WA for another 6 weeks in between your Junior and Senior year.

If you enlist you still have to do time as enlisted (Basic & AIT) plus a minimum of two years. Enlisting and getting the OCS option still requires a commitment.

Better to to to the LTC at Knox

at present the army accepting almost a hundred% of all applicants for OCS. as lengthy as your GPA is a minimum of two.0 you're qualified. do no longer pay attention to posters asserting you go with a three.0, in basic terms the army calls for that. I inquired into military OCS those days till now starting to be a member of the Air tension, which wont settle for you for OTS till you have a BS with a minimum of a three.5 gpa.

You're chances are good. Talk with a recruiter and make sure it is an officer. Stop by your university armory and meet up with someone in ROTC. I am in your same position 20 and a sophomore in college, I might do OCS as well.

I wouldn't enlist if I were you. Yeah, you need a 4 year degree to qualify for OCS.

Dude... you have to have a 4 year college degree and enlist for OCS to become an officer. You could go ROTC but would need to get accpeted into that program to.

You'll have to see a recruiter to get into the military/OCS

See the PDF below for basic requirements to apply for Army OCS. You have to have at least 90 credit hours and be able to complete a Bachelor's within a year.

I think I would consider talking ROTC and seeing about--if you qualify--a scholarship for it...
