drinking sea water is a bad idea. the salt in the water will not only not help, but it will cause you to lose the water you already have in your system. (salt makes water come out of cells.) your kidneys will also shut down from the excess salt. bad.

eating fish is a good alternative, particularly the eyes, as they contain water.

you can also collect rainwater, or set up a "tent" to let sea water evaporate and then condense on the underside of the tent; the water that condenses will be fresh water.

If you drink sea water, you will need more water to flush the salt out of your body. The more sea water, the more fresh water. Rain water is the only alternative (if you haven't bottled water).
