I used to be a religious runner - 20 to 30 miles a week. Then I ruptured my achilles tendon, and had to quit for over a year. I will never be able to run like I did, and can now only run 5Ks competitively. Lost all my running friends since I can not run their distance. But I still run 10 to 15 miles a week - it is theraputic and helps keep the weight off.
I may start cycling - but I travel a lot, and can't throw a bike in my suitcase. So running will always be on my agenda.
Honestly, I think your present routine is fine. Better than most.
Good Luck.

If you don't want tips, then why are you asking the question.
The runner stereotype, is just a stereotype, you seem to know that.
I think most runners start out running just cause they love to run, not because they want to win competitions and such...
everyone has their own style, you don't need to fit in...
Why would you stop something you enjoy only because you think you don't fit in with a stereotype
it seems like you're putting aside yourself and thinking of others, who won't exactly care which way you go...
so if you love running as you say you do, why would you want to stop???

You are a runner just like myself. I don't know where you got that stereotype from but my only advice will be to forget about it and go on and enjoy running!
If I enjoy something, like cooking of sex, it does not mean I have to take part in any kind of competition, or do I?

My first inclination is to encourage you to continue what you are doing without regards to what others do and what others think. The reasons people run are as different as the number of people doing it. Regardless of all that, it's just darn good exercise for the whole body.
My second inclination came after I read your profile. Your profile leads me to believe you are the one who is unaccepting. Perhaps you want everyone else to love and only do LSD, so that you can reign as the King/Queen in the LSD jungle. If I have reached a wrong conclusion then you should rethink what's in your profile.
Good Luck to you in any case....

Who ever said that there is only one type of runner? Do what you like regardless of what others think. I would if I were you.
Even if you changed to something else, after a while you would miss running because that is what you chose over others to begin with because it is something you enjoy. Keep your head up : )

No, don't quit.
Those who run for pleasure are the purest kind of Runner, and you my friend are a runner!
There are thousands (maybe more, who knows?) who only run long, slow runs and gain much in the way of mental clarity, lowered stress and pure pleasure from simply running.

if you don't want to run for a team then don't. Run on your own how you fell like running then you don't have people telling you what to do. Also if you want to run race's then you can sign up for road races. Good luck!! : )

If you enjoy what you are doing know keep doing it. If not find something else to do.
