Hi all...i am mixing epoxy ( viscousity 50,000 ) with tiny magnetic particles. I am using hand mixing. For small amount, there is no problem, but for larger amount I am facing some problems. most of the time metal particles are deposited at the bottom of container. It is importent for me to mix both evenly as I have to add controlled amount of magnetic particles. I can not place the shaft-end to be touching as there will be friction between shaft-end and bottom of container.but I place it as near as possible. What I need is to scoop up those deposited at bottom at certain frequency. I dont want to do it manually as the amount is large. Now I am using Anchor stirrer and still facing those kind of problems. Please recommend me some type of shaft which can mix material bottom to top..Thanks...

If you could make a part shaped like a propeller on the ends of your shaft it could mix the different layers together.

Try one of those plastic paint mixers you get at the hardware store. You can hook it to a drill. It has a long shaft and a circle at the bottom that has what looks like fan blades. With the drill you can reverse directions if you need to.
