Why do people even bother commenting if they don' wanna help? Some situations I go through, I REALLY need helpful advice.

Yes, I do hate that. I think that is extremely rude to refer to someone elses life as a soap opera. We all have real problems and it does not help when others make light of them.

Well, you have to look at the way people state certain questions. While people/families can be very complicated, some people can also be too sensitive.

The question asker might not realize that they're being a bit of a drama queen/king (or that a member of your family is)

Most of the time, you THINK they are being bitter. You also have certain mindset about the situation, which creates a bias. However, they might have some truth in those words. They are someone looking in from the outside into the situation.

The way you word the question or the way you paint certain family members, might make others see that someone is just overreacting.

A good rule of thumb is to remember that WE don't know your family. We only know what you tell us. Meaning, what you consider obvious about your family might just be "assumed" by a reader. The reader can only give an answer based on what information is presented and not what you think they should already know.

Yeah - well - that's the nature of Yahoo Answers - you're going to get flakes and you're going to get sincere answers. Some answers will offend even when someone is sincerely trying to help. But, I really like hearing from a gazillion different people and I've rarely had mean people respond.

People are sarcastic and insensitive because they don't have to face you. You very well know that no one would tell you anything like the written comments you receive in person. Secondly, these people are likely channelling their own anger about something or trying to amuse themselves as they believe their comment is indeed the wittest comment of all time.

Well aren't soaps a substitute for real drama?

Anyway, people say silly things b/c they get 2 point, or because it makes them feel smart or witty.

I do, but fortunately, people have been kind and helpful when I've needed it. I guess you just have to ignore the unkind comments. Believe me, their turns will come when they least expect it.
