If we, the atheists, are right, then this life is all we have. There is nothing more to come. This life, these hours, are your only opportunity to experience your existence-- to experience joy, love, art, pleasure, happiness. Therefore, every wasted hour, every hour spent in chasing an illusion, a phantom, means that some of your precious grains of sand have been stolen from your hourglass and tossed away. You have, in a sense, shortened your life-- the only existence you will ever know.
Every hour you have read a bible, sat in a pew, engaged in intolerant condemnation based upon biblical laws, went door-to-door trying to convince someone else of your delusion, or contrived outlandish explanations for religious absurdities, you have squandered away the irreplaceable hours of your life, and they can never be reclaimed. You have wasted your one and only life wrapped up in a mythology that never was. How sad this is. I actually pity people who have been so deceived.

Hmmmm ..... I think they had made a decision what to do with the only life we have. We should respect their decision.
Of course, if they want to push down their belief onto me ...... LOL .... that would be different ......

Dear Annoyed :
If someone becomes a Christian, lives a life of prayer, charity, and love, then finds out FSM is the real creator, who will punish you for believing in his minor creation rather then himself, what would you do?
Remember, atheists has only 1 god lesser then you. It does not mean you are more right then us. It just mean you have one more hurdle to go across after you disbelieved in the next few billions of god(s).
For your question:
Anyway, However, if someone is an atheist, lives their life however they chose to but denies God, then dies to find out that it was all true, what do they lose?
I can tell you, NOTHING. If that god is true and benevolent as you claimed to be (Fair and All loving and such), he should accept the fact he himself does not provide enough proof and hence judge with the works of the atheist. If that god is true and malevolent as you claimed to be (as in throw someone into hell because that someone did not believed in him) then it is better off that way as this tyrannt isn't worth the worship he demanded.

I don't feel that my life has been wasted at all. I enjoy reading the Bible, and being with Gods people, in a pew. I also have experienced love, joy, art, pleasure, and happiness. Where did you ever get the idea that we do not have those things? And it is just your opinion of our faith being outlandish and delusional. But did you ever stop to think, what if the atheists are wrong, does that mean that you squandered your life away, by not having the joys only God can give? I think it is sad that you have been so deceived.

What if the Christian is right?
Either way the Christian is better off for believing in God. We don't look at our gathering "grains of sand" as punishment or work. Speaking for myself and my friends. We truly enjoy it.
There are 4 possibilities in God and after life.
There is a God and I believe in him- this is a good
There is a God but I don't believe - This is a bad because you go to hell
There is no God - If you believe you still lived life thinking there was one and you still get pleasure and rewarding feelings from your deads. You are less fearful at death (persumably I haven't died yet but you have hope for after life). And if you don't believe then you live the life you want.
Either way Christians Are Garanteed happiness for all the time they can enjoy it. And Atheists only have it on earth and are gambaling with eternity.
"joy, love, pleasure, happiness" these define our relationship with God and define our lives. If you fear for our happiness then don't bash our God He is our loved one and we don't like to see our loved one attacked. -I hope this helps a bit. I mean not to convert but only to open your eyes to the other side

I am pretty much atheist, but i do understand that some people need something to believe in. Although it may seem like a waste to you and I, it means a lot to them.
I do not pitty them(although i can understand your point). I almost envy them for being so dedicated and having so much faith.

Those people who do those things find enjoyment in it most likely. So to them it is not a waste of life, it is a belief. Often what we believe is our reality. Maybe they are not all wrong. Maybe there is something more. If they are happy then cool. People who try to convert others bother me, so they aren't so cool. Live and let live.

what if well It won't matter because life is better when Im doing what is right not what is wrong. The guide lines in the Bible are actually not strict and I enjoy things better any ways when I don't sin so much.Another thing is think about how could this world be an acident how could the sun be think about the complexiblity of the world and even our bodies.
My life is so much better since I accepted Jesus so much better ! My life has turned around so much. I am not going to go back to where I was. If your right we all die and rot in the ground and know no diferent. If christians are right we all spent enternity in heaven or hell people who accepted Jesus go to heaven those who didn't well they go to hell. Christianity isn't based on do's and don'st I wouldn't be christian if it was. it's based on knowing Jesus.
Jesus has been proven to have exsisted it's wether you belive that he is who he said he is. listion to this song and think about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f658EuiDRAc
I would rather live for god even if it turns out he dosn't exsist. I rather have spent my life that way than find out when i die that I am going to hell because I didn't belive and didn't accept jesus. I enjoy church I enjoy every thing about god.

Just two points from this atheist's perspective:
Atheists aren't a collective 'we'.
The definition for atheism is not:
'doesn't believe in any kind of afterlife'
I don't generally support self-righteous ranting, it sounds too similar to religious fundamentalism.
I simply don't believe in any deities, and I also argue against certain doctrines and delusions.

Agreed,
If I'm right that there is no god and no afterlife, I'll have enjoyed my life and be remembered fondly by those I left behind.
If I'm wrong, then I hope whatever deity I meet in the next life will judge me on my merits as a human being and not on what I believe.

No need to be insulting.
That said, I must reluctantly agree with you. Even if a religious person thinks that they are so happy with their life, chances are they're making sacrifices for their religion, just like you say. Not to mention, their world-view would be just so different, and so much clearer, if they were to step into the atheist reality.
The end of idiocies like controversy over gay marriage and abortion, and all-around intolerance, would be a nice perk.
