Not really an answer to your question, but it did make me think.

I was born Baptist, but when I was 16 I wanted to convert to the Mormon Church. My family was very upset and forbid me to do it.

That's when everything changed. I thought as long as I believed in God and wanted to worship him, why would it matter so much where I did it?

I have only attended church twice since then, and I'm 28.

I guess they would rather me have no belief at all than to believe something other than them.

Muslim, I would have to admit that would be a hard pill to swallow. But I would love my child as the "person" they are, regardless.
