I think the fact that God the Father raised Him from the dead pretty well dispels any doubts on the matter.
I think you would have to be a little insane to disregard Him.

Growing up, Jesus was told by His mother (Mary) that He was the Son of God. Mary also showed Him from the Scriptures all those prophecies given to point out the Messiah and that the Messiah would be the Son of God.

In the end, no, Jesus was neither insane nor deluded -- instead, He accepted the weight of evidence as He compared the circumstances and characteristics of His life against the very Word of God. Believing the evidence of God is not insanity (as some would have you to believe), it is actually a higher calling and the Bible refers to it as receiving the love of the Truth. Also, here is what the Bible says about those whom don't receive the love of the Truth.

2Thes. 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Thes. 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Thes. 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Thes. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Thes. 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Thes. 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

So, what is this weight of evidence of which I spoke? There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament which spell out the conditions and characteristics for both the coming of the Messiah and how to identify the Messiah. A statistician calculated the odds for all of those 300 prophecies being fulfilled by a single individual. He said the odds were the equivalent of dumping three feet deep of quarters on every square inch of the state of Texas and then asking a blind man to walk out into the state of Texas and pick up, on the first try, the single quarter which had been painted red.

Under those circumstances you would have to be insane *AND* deluded *NOT* to accept that the very person whom fulfilled *ALL* of those 300+ prophecies was *NOT* the very Son of God and your Messiah and Saviour.

If that's insane then we all are. Whether everyone believes it or not, everyone is a son or daughter of God. Not in the biological sense, but in the sense that everyone came from Him and couldn't exist without Him. The world is too complex to have just spontaneously created itself.

In Jesus' case, it was not quite so simple, and yet it was much simpler. While God is His Father, Jesus also is God. Hard to wrap your mind around, I realize. Here's an honest suggestion, though: pray about it. Pray for understanding.

Jesus never said he was son of God. He always referred himself as son of Adam (Or son of man). The confusion started from the mixing up of the term father. Earlier religions
started when humanity was in its infancy. To make
people clearly understand God's love for humankind, the metaphor of father was used. Later day apostles and priests
changed it to actual physical parent son relationship.

Jesus was a genius! He used the best words for
every occasion. I can never forget his words when a poor
woman was being punished for adultery:

" Let the first stone be cast by the one who
never committed this crime".

I love and respect Jesus. He is an honourable son of Adam.
The human race is proud of him.

1 Cor. 2: 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This is why people (especially atheists and agnostics) can't understand these things, because you "have not the Spirit of God" therefore, spiritual things are foolishness to you. You will NEVER understand them until you put aside your own pride and knowledge and humble yourselves before God. If your heart isn't sincere, if you don't have a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then you will receive no testimony. God knows your hearts just as he knew the heart of Judas Iscariot; there is nothing you can hide from him. And like Judas, you will regret it in the end.

Ps. 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many people of all religions or beliefs agree that Jesus was a "great teacher" at the very least, a historical figure. How many insane people have had followers for 2000 years and non-followers agree that they were "great teachers"?

How can ANYONE say that God was and is the Father of Jesus when all we have is Jesus' supposed word for it

There is no more evidence that Jesus was a god's son than there would be if I said I was the son of a deity.

Period.

Nothing written on jesus' life is reputable mate. The bible wasn't written until well over 300 years after the guy died and even then, the team of writers were told to write fanciful stories about him, making him supernatural and 'more than a man'. This was mainly to create a doctrine or 'one way' holy book, so as to constrict 'less pure' forms of christianity and to amalgamate several other religions like paganism and mesianic judaism into the immerging christianity.

Michael Bagaent wrote a great book on this subject, called 'the jesus papers'.
